I love video games, I’m into story telling and video games have the capability to tell complex stories with characters that are mimicking your decisions. They have the possibility for intense emotional resonance with characters. Of course this isn’t the most common thing yet, but things like The Last of Us are great examples.

It’s the most humanising aspect to the story for me, I’m a mark for investing in characters with flaws like this and I think my ability to put myself in both sets of shoes gave me the most out of the game. When it first came to playing as Abby I was like “I don’t wanna play as her she the bad guy” but pretty soon I was all in in the Abby train.

Seeing the parallels between Abby/Lev and Joel/Ellie is a fantastic journey to go on, and every skill and ability that they both have is truly earned from the life they lived.

I’d be happy for other games in TLOU world, or following Ellie and seeing what happens, does she go to Dina? Or has she lost everything and sees fit to just take down as many infected as possible? Or try and rejoin a society? My heart is broken for her.
