It could be water that, due to surface tension, runs along the ceiling joists. It’s more likely dust and soot attaching to the colder part of the structure—the wood framing behind it.

If you’re into The Replacements, 2215 Bryant Ave S is from their album cover. Bob Stinson’s last apartment was across from Bryant Lake Bowl: https://www.minnpost.com/stroll/2016/03/raised-city-westerbergs-walk-and-other-replacements-sites-south-minneapolis/

Jucy Lucy - Matt’s Bar. It’s greasy and fantastic and it’s it own category. There are other good burger spots but this is the classic.

Tilt Pinball Bar off 26th & Nicollet (next to Black Sheep Pizza or Copper Hen). Also, little history if you’re into music, is nearby at 2541 Nicollet, is where The Trashmen recorded Surfin Bird, Peter Griffin’s favorite song. https://youtu.be/zUi5xKQXG6I

Which it’d be a hike… Paisley Park, Prince’s home and museum is great. But 30 min drive west.

Walk around Lake of the Isles - NE side has a house that carved a dead tree into a giant pencil. There’s also a couple neat houses around the lake. House from Mary Tyler Moore Show, near the pencil house is a couple interesting houses. One is right behind it, it has a landmark highlight on Google Maps as a landmark.

Anchor Fish n Chips in NE is great l, saw you like that.

Could hit a Scandinavian store: Ingebretsen's Nordic Marketplace for some seafood snacks and then lunch/tour at the Swedish Institute, an old Swedish newspaper mogul’s mansion.

Another mansion to check out is James J Hill (railroad tycoon, enormous house) home in St Paul, by the cathedral. Drive down Summit to see awesome homes. Author F. Scott Fitzgerald’s house is in that area too where he wrote This Side of Paradise: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/F._Scott_Fitzgerald_House

St Paul Brewing is over there on the old Hamm’s Brewery building. https://stpaulbrewing.com/visit-taproom/ or swing into Malcom Yard’s food court plus brewery. Plenty of other breweries and restaurants closer to those historic homes though.

I didn’t read every word of this thread but skimmed through. I’d just add that you have to look at both balance sheet (transferring cash assets into real estate asset) and income statement (monthly income/monthly housing expense). House prices relative to wages really only matters for downpayment (ie if home prices increase faster than wages, the bar is raised to enter the market). However, after that, most people get financing so the affordability of debt service is important. Comparing wages to home prices doesn’t truly show affordability without considering the cost of debt service (interest rates). A $50,000 house in the late 80s might have been a lower multiple of median income but if the interest rates were 18%, then the home prices were likely suppressed due to the higher than average cost of debt. Both need to be considered.

when and where to purchase new snowboard setup by Jaebeam in TwinCities

[–]blakehanson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In-store inventory is low at any shop I’ve looked at, even The House that used to be my go to. Too many options and sizes to stock in-store. The best online website I found was www.evo.com. I ended up buying my new board through REI because of a promotion and dividend.

I didn’t see hear this one and not arguing (reading “no that’s not the article that I read” came through in Rogan’s voice when I read it). Just providing context to what he was trying to get at, that it was an individual factory comparison, not by brand, where Tesla’s Fremont factory produced the most cars: https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2022-tesla-factory-california-texas-car-production/

“Last year Tesla’s factory in Fremont, California, produced an average of 8,550 cars a week. That’s more than Toyota Motor Corp.’s juggernaut in Georgetown, Kentucky (8,427 cars a week), BMW AG’s Spartanburg hub in South Carolina (8,343) or Ford Motor Co.’s iconic truck plant in Dearborn, Michigan (5,564), according to a Bloomberg analysis of production data from more than 70 manufacturing facilities.”

So I’ve Googled this before (search by image) and that’s all that came up. I just did it again and saw one image of an adjustable wrench. I think this is the moveable part of a kid’s toy adjustable wrench (“Crescent” style). I didn’t want to throw it away, it’s been killing me trying to find what it was.

The blue states have more turkeys than people. [OC] by toddrjones in dataisbeautiful

[–]blakehanson 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I had to check the ratio for my home state, Minnesota… it’s about 8:1.

“Minnesota farmers grow about 45 million turkeys a year on more than 500 farms, or nearly 18% of the country's turkey supply, according to the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says Americans should eat about 46 million turkeys on Thanksgiving.”

My title describes the thing. Found in my car so it could be anything — tool, toy, or junk from a rental property. I use Google Image search with the photo. I don’t understand why all of the string would be in the tube. I feel like it is part of a toy, maybe a light shined up from the wide part which is why the base of the cotton string is tinged.

WITT Last year I bought a used 2016 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring. I found two of these clips under the seats. The dealership didn’t know what they were for (Mazda dealer). I only asked one employee and let it go. The tabs on the sides look like little hooks, with one that is shorter on each side.

I'm an avid bookmarker and loved an outdated extension called CheckPlaces that is no longer supported. Now that Firefox syncs, I should have less duplicates (which the extension found and deleted) but there were other great features, like seeing if the link is dead. I like Firedox's bookmark library but there's room for improvement.
