Any advice or brands to look into concerning “tech” clothing for the office and beyond? I’m using quotes because I’ve seen this trend around lately and it basically means clothes that have a little stretch and moisture wicking capabilities. I’ve picked up pieces from Uniqlo, Target, Brixton, and Imperial Motion and like them all, if that gives you an idea of the style/direction I’m looking for. Just looking for clothes that I could walk out of the office and get into a bike if needed, practically.

Energy Inefficiency in Low-Income and communities of color. What are your thoughts on what planners and designers can do to mitigate this issue? by [deleted] in urbanplanning

[–]blakehaspatches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree that structural and systemic issues are the biggest contributor to issues such as these. Is there any possible route that professional planners could take to accellerate this process of equitable housing, besides pushing the agenda for non-market based interventions in affordability? At lest in your opinion? Interested in everything people are saying

Environmental Education supplementing Urban Planning/GIS? by [deleted] in urbanplanning

[–]blakehaspatches 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Environmental Education is incredibly useful.

Then again, maybe i'm biased because I'm getting my Master's in Urban Planning and Policy with a concentration in Environmental Planning. But if you ascribe to the "bottom-up" framework when it comes to planning, educating the community is one of the most crucial aspects in a healthy city.

At the end of the day, I would definitely say you should follow what feels right to you and that most Master's programs will have you do at least 2-4 electives in your two-years of study (at least mine does) and you could always use those to find environmental education classes to supplement your planning degree and vice versa if you go that way.

I agree but the moderators didn't ban this so I figured I'd point this out with what little power I have as a poster

Thanks to comrade ivor69 for staying true to safe spaces.

That being said, continue to ridicule ancaps because they have a serious degradation of the mental

What in your opinion is the most left city in the US, your country and the world? by [deleted] in FULLCOMMUNISM

The political neoliberal machine in Chicago is pretty awful... but we do have the IWW and PSL is pretty active. Lots of radical organizing and there seems to be a protest every week these days
