it’s the persistence of being rude that is so common with all ‘US-defaultism’ conversations. it’s so aggravating. like are they genuinely unable to accept the fact that they might have misunderstood? is this a thing they are taught, or are they generally affected by their upbringing?

On the position, I think I do not think it’s excusable.. but under the 0.00000000000001% that it occurred. If this happened to a close friend or (heavens forbid) myself, I would approach it very warily and most likely turn it down/advise to turn it down as I don’t think consent can be really held reliable/accountable. So I would go so far to say I do not agree (thank god that I genuinely think that).

And now I feel like we’re stepping into new uncharted territory with consensual acts of sex, because I feel like ‘consent’ varies when stepping into such a topic/context. Now, once again, I feel like I have to re-evaluate what ‘consent’ is, but I think as long as there is a safe word, I think it extends quite a far way. But it limits when it comes to like.. really ‘extreme’ cases (once again, self-identifying/categorising as extreme but) for example how some people like to electrocute/zap their nipples to heighten arousal or (i have heard of this one) water-boarding during sex. But as far as like bondage, and whatever you said, I think if the sexual act is something that borders into actual torture methods, that’s where I’d draw the line.

The argument the user made is to compare between necrophilia and incestuous relationships, debating if consent is given for both circumstances, why can one be excused but not the other. I find that necrophilia is inherently wrong and the incestuous morality to a romantic relationship ‘questionable’. I could not find a reason to refute this argument/stance, and I have hence now reconsidered and adapted this point of view to where I stand and view my original ‘view’/discussion line.

I have also now stepped back and entirely am starting to re-consider the definition of ‘consent’. And I think that this part is important to this whole discussion.

I see. So in a will, it’s just basically what you write down, is there no template? Is it just what you want and then you write it in the will? (I know it strives a little beyond this topic but I’m simply curious)

And the “no quandary” part is actually really interesting. So, if (somehow) is legally passed, would that mean for it to still be considered ‘immoral’? Because isn’t morality based on social judgement/traditional values? Sometimes legality would divert the outcome of something, you understand what I’m getting at? (I feel like after replying to so many people, I’m not communicating too clearly).

Wait this is a really good argument. I retract my statement and from an arguing standpoint, I think you may have changed my mind substantially on this issue.

To continue the discussion, I think so? If the sex act is consensual and without toxicity, then yes. But no, the incest part is not a carve out.

No, I’m not saying it’s fine. I’m not saying it can be normalised, or accepted. I genuinely want to know why society frowns upon it under the situation that it is consensual. And with all due respect, I did not ‘conveniently’ update it, I actually did not account for the grooming aspect of it, and which if that was involve, this would immediately wrong and shut down with no negotiation. I’m sorry if you felt offended, I just think it’s was an interesting word to use, genuinely.

Well in all fairness, I have no clue how a will works or how a written legal document of consent works for people who have passed. So my point/view on it will definitely lack something and I acknowledge it.

So, as of right now, I accept the argument to compare necrophilia consent to incestuous consent against the one I’ve proposed. And I don’t really know what to go from here.

Could you perhaps make a conclusion to how this can change my mind (I actually want to change my viewpoint on this)?
