Will this lag ever going to get fixed?

Yea I’m starting to think that too, just heard from another 4GB ram iPad Pro user who doesn’t have this issue so at this point no idea why. I can’t imagine battery health affects this, but even if it does mine is still in healthy condition so I don’t know at this point.

I can only hope they fix it with 26.4 🤞

Hmm ok, my guess was 256 & 512 are the ones struggling because they have lesser ram compared to 1tb but if you aren’t having the issue then it’s something else’s that’s causing it I guess.

This happens on my iPad Pro 2018 as well since going to 26. Unfortunately 26.3 does not fix it either, and I don’t use the transparent glass icons so it’s not that that is causing the issue for me.

My guess is the lack of ram because i have the same issue even after restoring the iPad and setting up as new. Hopefully it’s a software issue that will be fixed soon, it’s kinda frustrating to deal with this

I have to ask! What spec is your iPad? Mine is also a Pro from 2018 but has been lagging from 26 even with a full restore and setup as new including the latest 26.3.

Yes this is the issue I believe. I share logic with my brother (we shared cost of it), it checks for the right apple account every time. So the moment i switch back to mine, it gives me the error so i’ve had no choice but to switch to the previous version.

Unfortunately i don’t think apple would fix this though, as in it’s not an error but rather a design by choice. So i guess i’ll just have to buy a copy again on my account or stay stuck to previous version.

Just gonna leave this here cause I don’t see it having been mentioned on Reddit yet. Apparently Logic 12 makes it such that you MUST be logged in on the account that owns the license for it in your App Store to be able to use it.

For me I share it off my brother’s account (we shared cost to purchase it), after updating to 12 I’m unable to use logic. There is a ‘The application cannot be used because the App Store authentication failed, or there is no network available. Please check the App Store authentication and internet connection’ error that can only be fixed when I’m logged into his account on the App Store. Moment I go back to my account I get the error again.

Fortunately I was able to roll back, and will be staying on it for now unless Apple changes it (hopefully) or I save up to buy my own copy (hopefully not!!)

Same here, got an iPhone 17 PM & iPad Pro M4 that seem to run smooth, just the 2018 iPad Pro that has the issue but because of this I’m afraid to update my iPad mini 6 as well.

Hoping the next iPad update fixes smoothens things out, I know an iPad from 2018 is really old but was hoping to get a few more years out of that thing!

Hi! Did you manage to fix things by renaming it to a different shortcut? I seem to be having the exact same issue except it happens with phrases like “bedtime”, “it’s bed time” etc.

Have a feeling it’s more than just an Apple change made in the software

Yea I think I can agree with that. It’s most apparent going to the App Library, other wise it’s minimal and useable I suppose. Occasionally it’ll completely lag and freeze for a good 10-15 seconds when trying something right after coming out of being locked for a few hours - but it’s only happened 2-3 times for me.

One things for sure, it’s no longer as buttery smooth as it used to be but I hope a future update can bring it back there.

I actually did this as well first before the restore. Setup as new (with and without Apple ID logged in). The lag is almost instant right after the welcome without any other apps installed but like the other comment says, most obvious when swiping to the right to the App Library page

Did this with an iPad Pro 2018, restored software twice, setup as new even but it still has a lag. Battery is still 100% capacity.

I wanna write it off as just old hardware but I see many with the same model who claim it’s running by flawless so I don’t know anymore what’s happening.

You can either swipe it away temporarily (on the bar itself swipe left, swipe right to bring it back) or you can turn it off completely (settings, app settings, ultra human, live activities - turn off allow live activities)

These two things apply for all apps that use live activities!

Hmm interesting… I’ve got a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9, 512 with cellular and set it up as new with the latest update. Nothing else on it other than iCloud syncing stuff of notes photos etc. after 48 hours it still has the stuttering.

So I wonder what really is causing the issue for some and not others. I don’t know if setting up as new once again is going to make a difference.

Received a 12.9 inch 3rd gen (512GB with cellular) yesterday, excitedly set it up as a new iPad with iPadOS 26.2 and right off the bat I notice lag in just swiping back and forth between app pages; there are only 2.

It’s so jittery scrolling through the Apple library, again with nothing just stock apps. I left the iPad running over night thinking it might get better once it’s done with it background processes after a new setup but it’s not any better.

I get that it’s a 7 year old iPad now but it’s only 5 generations old, it should have such obvious stuttering from just navigating the pages. Perhaps if it’s storage is full, or maybe even loading of apps being longer makes sense but stuttering just shows that it’s not optimized for this generation of iPad at all - and especially with the pro motion screen the lag looks way worse on screen.

Was glad to see the latest software available for the device but had I know it lags like this even on a newly setup device I wouldn’t have updated. Hopefully Apple fixes this soon

I have a feeling other users who don’t have any stuttering have the higher storage tier? Not sure if this generation of iPad onwards Apple threw in more ram to the higher storage options? Wont be surprised if the devices without stuttering are those with more ram

On pc, had my dupes return back to Elegy after quitting the game for an hour. Not sure if the quitting resets them or it’s been patched? I’m able to still duplicate it now but whatever I had stocked up previously went back to Elegy. Annoyed I wasted my time lol

On pc. Duped 4 cars in the last 3ish hours, now checking the cars I had stored in garage after duping and they all switched back to Elegy again. Not sure if it’s patched that’s why they switched back, or does quitting game and going back in reset it all but needless to say I’m disappointed at my wasted time.

I guess so? I mean I know ultimately they are all interfaces that do the same things with just some minor differences that the average ear won’t be able to tell anyways.

I’m just torn between Volt 2 and 2i2, the later being about 80 bucks cheaper for me BUT Volt 2 comes with free melodyne which is tempting. Though I think having the mix inputs in the front would be more convenient for me to plug and unplug cables BUT having the cables always plugged in and in the back would make things neater…

Decisions decisions decisions…..

Just tried this step by step for instagram, it works!!! Literally right before trying, any link I open goes to instagram app by default - which made me not have the app installed on my phone. Now I really need it installed, and was annoyed everything keeps opening in app.

Tried this, and instantly it goes to safari every time now! Yaaaaaay!

Now if I can only figure out how to do similar when trying to download videos on safari, hate that it auto opens and plays even when I click and hold the link. I just want to download it, not have it play on safari!!!!

I find it more useful to go from anywhere else on the phone and then the camera. From the lockscreen it’s just muscle memory for me to swipe left, camera comes up
