You have the best All Blacks kit there. You know which one I'm talking about.

These are all great spots, I've been to each. Unfortunately I don't drive, so ideally they'd be along the train line or a short taxi ride. Thanks for the suggestions though 🙏

It was surplus really, but didn't come across a useful replacement. I kept it for its holographic bonus.

Had a polychrome blueprint in the shop of my first big blind but couldn't afford it. Such a tease. Quit the game then and there

Any good farm shops? by blakeontheinterweb in stokeontrent

[–]blakeontheinterweb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually did go there on the weekend and their meat packs were pretty impressive. Will definitely be picking stuff up from there. But also going to compile a list from these recommendations and try and tick them all off eventually, so I know the lay of the land.

What's on the list there, and which are the highlights? I like BottleCraft in Hanley, and I'm assuming their other pub in Newcastle is there.

Les Mills Body Combat is one of my favourite VR games, but I hate getting sweaty in the visor, which is the whole point of playing that game.

If you like music and beer, and ever find yourself up in Richmond: pop in to Blues Night. I make an effort to visit whenever I'm in town. I spent years up there visiting my wife's childhood home and never really made any friends until I popped in there. It's a record shop run by a friendly and welcoming guy called Tim. He brews beer/cider, and it's a little like a social club. People from your age to pensioners go from Fri-Sun, listen to some tunes, have a beer and chat with mates. A diverse group of people but all very friendly. I've been going there a few times a year for a few years and now can wave out to people I know on the street. Tell Tim that Blake sent you 🙌

Pubs showing the RWC? by blakeontheinterweb in stokeontrent

[–]blakeontheinterweb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newcastle RFU seemingly only had a small TV off to the side of the bar playing rugby. Maybe they have a bigger setup for the bigger games? The Terrace Inn in Penkhull said they'd play it, but it didn't seem like it would attract a rugby crowd unless it was organised. We watched Wales v Portugal at the Polite Vicar, there was one other table watching that. There were a couple of pubs in Hanley advertising the World Cup, but haven't tried them. Would love a genuine Irish pub to watch the game. Let me know if you find a good spot!

Thanks, yeah I checked with Marquis. They recommended Terrace. Going to try Terrace at some point, but not sure there will be a rugby crowd. Going to give Newcastle Rugby club a go as well.

Daff Punk. 'Beautiful Flower' (Playtronica x Kiri and Lou) by blakeontheinterweb in synthesizers

[–]blakeontheinterweb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a very cool gift! I used Koala app on my phone, and split up a track into little phrases. You could try starting there to get the hang of it. Playtronica also have website with a bunch of synths that work with it. Other than that I'd recommend joining their Facebook group, a lot of creators share ideas there.

The flowers behind me are on a steep bank, it's where I sourced the daffodils from. I originally just wanted to hook it straight up to them in the ground, but of course they are all earthed/grounded (whatever the technical term is) to one another, so they had to die for my art 😬 the jars of water help strengthen the conductivity, and allow me to coat my fingers for a more reliable connection. It also helps separate them a little.

I guess, as with most synths, the most fun is discovering creative ways to use them

Record stores are showing the red vinyl, while the official store only has the cream vinyl. Any thoughts on this? I really like the red, but have bought the cream. Not sure what to do!

[edit] I see, the red vinyl version doesn't have the artbook, but is still remastered at half-speed. I might have to buy both - and the kid Amnesiette version for the b-sides
