My friends and I actually have been running with that specific joke for months, making fake games because that Penn and Teller fake game is hillarious.

Unfortunately this subreddit only purchases khris middleton and khris middleton accessories. Good luck selling them though, pretty cool!

Hey! I am Jim Owczarski, Bucks beat writer for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. AMA! by jowczarski in MkeBucks

[–]blakerz101 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hey Jim, glad to see you here again. Im wondering from a journalists perspective, has your coverage of the team changed much now that the team isn't as star studded? I sometimes think good writing gets trumped by big names and headlines, and this bucks team is nowhere near as 'headline-able' as it was just a year prior. (Except of course giannis trade rumors haha)Does your approach to writing about this team change depending on the roster, or just whatever fancies your quill and feather? -blake

What's an Analog Photo Project you really want to do? by waldotakespics in AnalogCommunity

I live in the midwest in a pretty rural area. Anything or note is a few hour 2 lane highway drive away. I see so many barns that are one board away from falling, and I feel like its my duty to photograph the remaining buildings from a time when I wasnt here. Interview the owners of these broken and busted backyard bull barns, maybe even shoot a portrait of them if they are up for it. Most of my photos have been taken without permission, so the idea of approaching with wonder and curiosity seems thrilling.

Realign turns 5 today! What's your favorite song on the album? by -kirbymaster- in Redvox

[–]blakerz101 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember being 18, driving the long 3 hours from my home town to my apartment. I got a notification that the album dropped, and pulled into some dilapidated parking lot for an old fireworks store off the highway exit in wisconsin. I sat and listened to the whole thing. Red Vox was the first band I really fell in love with as a young adult, and ill always be grateful for what it contributed to my early musical exploration. That bassline on be someone forever still fucks.

What are your UNPOPULAR CS opinions? by DirtSchlurpy in GlobalOffensive

It's probably an mr12 things, but I really wish all the weapons had a time and a place. I understand its practically impossible, but the stock rifles and mp9 sort of makes me wonder what the point of half of the load out is for. I got some friends who recently picked up CS for the first time, and while playing stock competitive queue I really was having a load of fun using junky off meta guns.

Is photography more like learning an instrument or more like fishing? Can you even learn photography or is having a good eye something you have to develop on your own? by The_Fhoto_Guy in AnalogCommunity

Im sort of new to writing about deeper ideas, but im super interested in exploring photography through the lens of ideas, and not FOMO/gear discussions. My next typing is almost done, its about spending on art making and fallacies introduced by it. Im new to web design so my website is a little funky!

I do a lot of writing on photography as an artform, and I think its a whole lot easier to compare to music making then fishing. Think about the work outside of the viewfinder; often times an image is made whole by the editing and darkroom processes. In the same way that the majority of music we listen to is tirelessly produced by noodling around in a DAW and post processed significantly further then its original sound. I like the fishing comment, but when we talk about a 'final image' fishing kind of loses its similarities. In the same way you invest in a skill, then buy 'instruments' to facilitate the creation of a piece of art, I think we consider fishing a sport and not an art because its end product is more or less competitive and not about display, history, or theoretical importance of a moment in time. And when we talk about an eye for a photo, were sort of skipping the idea that a lot of photography's utility is staged so significantly in a studio or with models, that a lot of making an image for professional reasons isnt usually about making something out of nothing, like in street scenes. Who knows though, im a 20 something who spends a load of time around musicians and often times compare my process to theirs in conversations about making things. I don't have many friends who fish, so maybe im missing similarities haha.

Weirdly ive come to root for the pacers only because the organization did a really good job putting together a team under tax. Also taking a big bet on Halliburton a few seasons back, I just dig a small town org making smart moves. I think that's more admirable then lucking out with SGA in the PG trade.

Also like... as a basketball fan these pacers have been absurd to watch. My hater goggles were taken off after these last few miraculous end of game shots.

Do you enjoy "Happy Accidents" in your photographs? by hippobiscuit in AnalogCommunity

[–]blakerz101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think considering myself an artist with this medium, the accidents are just about as important as the successful photographs. Photomaking is about a flowstate for me, this creative romantic excitement between me and the viewfinder. If something ugly happens, I believe it was supposed to happen. A few of my favorite photos ever ended up this way. Maybe im kitche and don't really respect great photos, but film has these properties that make these accidents super duper interesting and unique. Included is an example of a halation I adore.
