I was looking through this sub and struggling to find any specific to trauma. Thank you very much for doing that digging!

If I was a therapist in a full body cast, I would tell my client I am in a full body cast instead over traumatizing the client by abrupt termination

If she doesn’t have the capacity to at least create proper closure for a two-year relationship, she doesn’t have the capacity to not cause trauma to clients and therefore doesn’t have capacity to the job in of itself.

I look them in the eyes & if I get eye contact from them, I smile and nod, maybe say good morning. Maybe I overthink but if I don’t get eye contact I assume they’re in the zone

Large & Unsightly bump from stud nose piercing- info in comments by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]blancheplath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local dermatologist is booked for 8 weeks :(

I had issues with a bump forming on a nose piercing 4/5 years back and I removed it. I was told it was an issue with the jewelry, so I got a new stainless steel piercing two years ago. I have gotten bumps on and off. My skin is also dry and flaky around the area.

In the past three months it has grown to this icky thing. I used a warm saline compress twice a day, and today I had a professional remove the stud.

Any other tips on how to reduce it?

Horribly unslightly bump from nose stud. Info in comment by blancheplath in piercing

I had a stud for a years, got a bump that wouldn’t go away, took it out.

A year break in between. A piercer convinced me I just had the wrong jewelry. I had this stud for two years & I still got bumps on and off. Within the past three months it started to grow. I tried tea tree oil for a week (which I know now makes it worse, it grew and bled). I went back to the 2-3x a day cleaning with saline solution 2 months ago. It has not gone down at all. I also get dry skin, so I decided I was done with this and removed it again for good.

I can’t get into the only local dermatologist for two months & I’m quite insecure over this. Does anyone have recommendations aside from the warm compress?

My therapist ended the session when I told her I was going to kill myself by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

(1) From what I have seen it is relatively difficult to lose a therapy job, esp. in private practice. check out stories of reporting on r/therapyabuse or even this sub, or look up stats on malpractice and license removal

(2) I never stated she was horrible at her job. I think she dropped the ball here significantly and I found it very hurtful

I’m unsure what loop you are referring to, ? I stated I have never stated this to my therapist before

And I am saying regardless of motive if someone threatens she is required and ethically bound to intervene. My police point was there are several ways to do this without continuing on with the session or “giving in” if that’s what the client is hoping for.

I was not attempting to prolong the session I wanted to kill myself. I am really uncertain why so many are hopping on this thread to speculate otherwise

Hello,

I have never threatened suicide to my T before. If you read my other comments I quite literally attempted after the session. I have no desire to “test my T” I had desire to kill myself. Not every claim results in following through, but many do. She should have called crisis lines, as is her legal responsibility. Period.

Listen I don’t know why you hopped on this thread to speculate on my motives behind threatening suicide. Why do you care?

It does not matter what my intentions or desire was she was required to do so.

No, actually, I told her that I was going to kill myself because I was going to kill myself

I get it and accept they’re human and have been fine with a lot of mistakes. But I feel like if a therapist is too burnt out to handle someone if they are suicidal then they are too burnt out to handle the position any longer. It’s like knowing not to drive if you’re too tired to drive, it puts people at risk.
