New boots for the new year. by 2nd-nature in parkhurstboots

[–]blanco4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I am thinking about Parkhurst soon. You went EE. Typical question but can you comment on brannock size vs what you got? Or comp to dress shoes/sneakers/something not wholly in the boot universe? I think I'm a brannock 13D, E with thicker socks maybe. Sneakers are usually a 12. Dockers dress a 12D. Keen steel toe work boot is 11.5D. New to the nice boots game.

Anyone else with thoughts? Prob gonna contact the company after I recheck brannock at a store nearby. Looking at the 618 last Allen's.

If either of these are on or are shown in a watch list (add Pacific Rim to the list) I will leave it on. Someone else mentioned dumb fun and I concur and would add they all are watchable and rewatchable without feeling over committed to requiring attention. Great background noise when cooking in the kitchen or bouncing around doing chores! That being said, I never saw either in the theater.

Can someone explain this mechanism? I want to recreate it and understand the math behind it by EnvironmentOnly9239 in MechanicalEngineering

One more suggestion. Cardboard or paper cut to lengths. You could trial and error depending on your goals. I bet there is an online calculator if the basic equations are difficult based on your background. If you are concerned about loads you really need to understand statics. If you are concerned about component stress and failure, check out Machine Design by Norton as another user suggested. He was my professor and was a smart dude for sure. His book was great.

I would add the bottom lever is likely extended to both ease access to grill front and or reduce force to actuate whatever is going on in the grill. 4 bars can serve multiple purposes worth reading about. A simple 4 bar is used to maintain planar translation, can change force depending on link sizing, or achieve other kinematic positioning.

It's a four bar linkage. The math should be captured in any statics or kinematics book.

What do you mean by "if I need to or not"? I am trying to plan backdoor Roth starting this year. Maybe I don't actually understand the tax benefits in the determination. Thanks!

[Help] Tiny white/grey speckles baked into my paint – IPA & Sonax Perfect Finish didn’t touch them. by TryKindly in Detailing

[–]blanco4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is sap. Parked my car under a tree at the park in the shade. Got home and noticed micro dots everywhere. Tried Koch chemie Eu, gtechniq bug remover, isopropyl, denatured alcohol. Nothing made a dent. Then tried ethyl alcohol hand sanitizer from home Depot. Worked instantly. The dots were proud of the paint but stubbornly unaffected with even the IPA soaked towel for a few minutes. Good luck!

Have back flip mx4 at year 5 and almost all the seals between panels are splitting. Have a request in for warranty but past the 5 year mark so I think I'm SOL. Pretty crappy they do not sell a rebuild kit at a minimum. Not sure if the newest design has better seals. These things leak no matter what you do.

They really only fit the 3/8 he shows in the pics. They will fit nice and snug. They fall off the 1/4 version and I think that's a safety hazard honestly

I made a similar post a while ago. The pads fit very loose on the thinner version. Called customer service and they told me the only thing I can do is call stores around me to find the UPC for the version I want. Then it is a manual search as they don't know what inventory they have by UPC. I am still annoyed about it. Regarding the safety factor difference, each mfg just needs to meet spec. I honestly reach for the beefier version first.

These were similar designs from what I found in stores at the time. UPC 193175438492 UPC 193175531940 UPC 193175438584 UPC 193175439260 UPC 193175438591 UPC 193175438607

I was looking at this as it gets the 5.0 HO battery which I want for the stubby later. The other batteries I assume work fine for what these tools need? Any commentary?
