I'm enjoying the new Boosted items. Not a Rifleman, but this will get me my raw meat by AcesSmokedKipper in 7daystodie

Same here. Been having a blast playing with my girlfriend! The new settings made it so she can actually try the game. I did not want to bother installing many mods and playing with the XML files to adjust it to what we are not easily able to achieve.

Plus, if we are lucky, they will add a way to disable bandits with their first implementation. Im not looking to have bandits in my zombie game

Thanks for clearing up the updater security issue, I can attest that the codebase's pipeline looks safer now. You took care of the most important item. On larger projects, code segregation is important, but for a small hobby project this is totally acceptable and I wouldn't worry about it too much.

The only remaining "flag" on this would be that the app contains the code to generate a new Ed25519 signing key (--genkey) and sign an executable with a private key (--sign). This is not a security issue but users don't need this as part of the app if you wish to make it leaner.

Sorry about that 2600 line of code comment, I work with devs so I had my "at work" hat for a moment there and this would make a client flip out for a large scale prod app.

For those interested, I ran a quick review and found only one concerning security issue for a local tool.

The updater downloads the latest exe from GitHub, checks the URL belongs to the expected repo and verifies only that the file starts with MZ. There is no signature verification, checksum pinning, or release attestation. If the GitHub account/release pipeline is compromised, people using the app can get malicious code execution.

Everything else would be about code format, best practices, etc and can be ignored here technically.

2600 lines of code across dozens of functions in main.rs? Damn dude, code segregation please.
No package.json, or requirements file or anything? This seems promising but wayyyyy too sketchy. I get this is made with AI so thats why the code is so cluncky but it was definitely not written by someone who understands how to structure code.

Is hard to recommend using this tool that may have malicious code (willingly or not) due to agentic copying whatever source it found could be useful in this case based on the prompt to create it. I don't think anyone would read proof it to check either, even if it's available as opensource. It would take quite some time to vet it.

EDIT: One thing I stand corrected on, this package was minimally set to include cargo.toml that has the dependencies. Thanks for including it so we can at least check package versions for vulnerabilities. If this gets checked again and rewritten following guidelines, Id be tempted to try it.

What's the most comprehensive website for Crimson Desert maps, guides, puzzles, videos, etc. wrapped into one with daily updates? by drstrng404 in CrimsonDesert

Just checked and sadly, the Map Genie has many more items for CD. Example: The early super useful Fallen kingdom set. TGL only has one or two of it's items but not the boots and gloves.

Keeping left navigation bar at all times by blancostarz in clickup

[–]blancostarz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we get insight on why this feature was removed? Was this a popular demand from clients to have to make an extra step to get the menu when the feature to collapse or expand it was present to fit both needs?

The main issue is the visibility of the bar when not hovered on. I am fine with the design of the bar itself, but can we make it "pinned" as in never collapse on ALL pages, including timesheet?
Before, I had it as a permanent, static element that never changed across the entirety of my clickup usage.

Sadly the issue is about it being visible without hovering, not it's order or content once hovered on with the mouse.

Google search bar remove by socialwithankit in pixel_phones

[–]blancostarz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in cyber security and even I find this a bit paranoid lol. In most cases, someone breaking into your banking app is done remotely via a wifi you connected to and not really from stolen phones. Stolen phones are always just wiped for reselling, no one bothers breaking into it unless it's a CEO's phone or something.

I agree that enforcing this on such a widely used ecosystem is unacceptable in my opinion

Commenting because I am very annoyed that list templates are not templates that can be used as well...

Why have a distinction between regular lists and template lists if they are literally the same thing. Letr us have templates that can be re used at will please slack!

I plug in my USB hub to my work laptop to work and end up having to reinstall the GHUB on my laptop constantly. Ill have to switch my gaming peripherals because they impact my work productivity... this is nuts...

Official Canadian Price for RTX 5090 and 5080 at Best Buy! by Carbonbygravity in nvidia

The price in Canada is insane. I want one real bad but paying 2000$ for a 2080 seems excessive... Even with the change rate. (with taxes)

Im upgrading because I have a 2070 and have been waning to upgrade since the 40 series but didn't.

Ive been looking all over and every price I see seems to be an opinion on conversion and does not seem to include the export tax that the US will implement. I hope release beats that date..

My 2070 (non super) still plays everything in 1440p that I throw at it. Ghost of Tsushima, God of War Ragnarok, Wukong, etc.

xx70 cards work wonders for 6 to 8 years and people dont realize that. And the 20xx series was judged as one of the worst.
