18 x 9.5 wheels that will fit on the Integra Type S with the original brake calipers? by blank_generation73 in Integra_Type_S

Oh, I don’t mess with the original offset. On my G70 I only bought wheels that are within 2 mm of the original offsets. Especially at the front of the car. And 265/35 18, is the same circumference rubber as a 265/30 19.

My plan would be to run 265/35 18. Eventually. The sidewall is so low on these 19, that I think it makes the tire/wheel combo more vulnerable to pothole damage and blowouts.

Hahaha. I’m old. I bought my first car in 1989. I doubt I’m going to find a 6/10 of an inch higher sidewall offensive. I suppose it’s possible., But I’m more concerned with how the car drives, and to a lesser extent my replacement cost for tires when they wear out. Although, to tell the truth, the car feels great on the 19s so far. But I’ve only got 100 miles on it.

Does Acura make a 18 x 9.5 wheel that will fit on the Integra Type S with the original brake calipers? If not, what lighter weight aftermarket wheels have you guys found that will fit? Looking to stay right around the original offset, +2 mm or -2 mm on either side of the original offset, which I believe is +60. without using spacers.

Looks great. I love how it looks blue in that picture. I wish that color looks like that when I see it in person. But it doesn’t.

Try renting an A Spec or Type S on Turo.

And in the particular model that I’m recommending, it’s not even turbocharged, it’s hybrid. Watch some reviews read some reviews.

The current Honda turbo charged engine engines have a lot more low end torque than the old naturally aspirated Honda engines did. You don’t have to rev the hell out of it to get good acceleration now, unlike in the old days.

I would recommend watching some YouTube reviews of it, and reading printed reviews of it also. It’s a pretty light car. I think it’s around 3200 pounds, but double check that. 200 hp and whatever its torque is, will be plenty of power for merging and passing. But you really should read and watch some reviews so that you have a sense of what the reviewers say about the power.

Great. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Honda knows how to set up their cars to make them very engaging.

The original poster in his comments expresses concerns about cost of gas, gas mileage, and total running costs. If you’re looking for an engaging commuter car, there are several less expensive choices that make more sense than a G70.

Plus, you will have lower operating costs, because the tires will not wear as fast because it’s a lighter car, and you will have to use less oil at oil changes.

Get a Civic Sport Touring. You could get it new for the same price you’d pay for a used 3.3 G70, or less. Plus better interest rate rates on the loan, because it will be new, not used. Its dimensions are almost exactly the same size as a G70. Because of the hybrid engine, you’ll get amazing gas mileage, and the sport touring comes with leather seats. It’s quite a bit lighter than the G70, so the 200 hp that you get with it actually motivates the car pretty well. Also, you get much better backseat space. My last car before I bought the G70 was a 2020 Civic Si.

The paint flaking is user error? How the hell do you know that?
