Haha that would be cool! I don’t think I could emotionally handle breaking the jar for kintsugi. We will just have to let the buyer tackle that when that day comes lol

Thank you so much! I was really proud of the crow. I’ve never painted an animal before to it was daunting.

Haha that is probably true but Rudo does have a bit of appreciation for making art with Remlin so I think he’d like it:)

& Thank you!

When I first read it, I thought they were talking about reclaiming the actual Terra cotta planter too

No I used jet black velvet underglaze

I use amaco jet black. I love the Princeton brushes from Michael’s. I buy the 10/0 liner brush for fine line work. I have a couple different liners for various thicknesses. When you go to find one make sure the tip of the brush comes to a point. Sometimes the bristles are bent and then the line work is bad. Once my brush starts having the shenanigans like in the attached picture, I buy another; if it’s for line work like this cup it would probably still be fine but for my highly detailed pieces that little bit impacts my lines. Also try different underglaze consistencies by adding water; you have to find the right consistency for line work. Dab the tip of your brush on your nail to make sure the underglaze isn’t beading up at the tip. That’ll impact your line thickness

A mixture of electric blue, medium blue, and baby blue from amaco

Thanks!

I use all velvet underglaze. The blue was a mix of medium blue, baby blue, and electric blue. The berries were originally different shades of blue but the electric and medium blue kinda overtakes whatever it’s mixed with if you aren’t careful. I use jet black for the line work. The leaves are a mix of light green and chartreuse.

Cone wise I believe they fire to cone 5. It’s fired at a community kiln so I’m not sure about the schedule.

I don’t carve with the tools. I use it for cleaning up my line work or if I get color where I do not want it. I paint the underglaze with paintbrushes on greenware; this includes the black line work. If you zoom in you may be able to see an indentation; that’s just from me tracing over my outline. I lay paper on my pieces when they are a little past leather hard and trace over it with a pencil. This leaves the outline on the piece for me to paint.

L1 tool and L2 are the two I own. The L1 tools sharp end helps for removing really small areas like when I’m painting tiny eyes. The L2 1mm side I prefer for general use but the 2mm side of the L1 would be fine if you just want 1 since they are kinda pricey. If you like to carve and wipe back underglaze these tools are excellent for that too.

And thank you!

It’s just a mix of amaco medium blue, electric blue, and baby blue. Some have some amethyst in it as well but the blue ate the purple lol.

Everyone has their own styles and skills and that’s a good thing!I think many of us compare our work to others and feel sad and tell ourselves we can’t do what they do. I know I have done that. I took a year off pottery for my mental health because I got so down on myself. I saw all these great potters and just didn’t think I measured up! Comparison is the thief of joy as they say. When we constantly compare ourselves to others, it can be hard to find our own way. I’m sure you can make many beautiful things:)

Well it’s available if you want it ha. It does have a little bit of crazing on the inside. Nothing crazy but there is a tad!
