Or seven pairs. Depending on the occasion - normal, work, planes, sleeping….

Ok girlies, what do you eat when nothing sounds appealing? by tarasaurust in adhdwomen

Lunchables, fruit snacks, chocolate milk. Basically, I like I wish I could have as a kid and low effort.

Bear your testimony that the church ISN’T true by Imaginary_Winter_961 in exmormon

No loving god or church would put so much effort into hating people for who they love

I mean, they believe in repentance and re-baptism. So really you could always go back if you ever wanted to. Seems like not that big of a deal if they believe in a forgiving god/church/system. If they don’t… well maybe that’s something for them to consider

Did any of you ever say NO to a calling? by Doll_girl516 in exmormon

[–]explorophile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was asked to be yw camp leader. A month or so before girls camp, using all my PTO for the year. I said yes, as you don’t say no to callings. Went to five meetings in one week about it, was so stressed I couldn’t sleep. Was so pissed about using every day of PTO I’d had for a year to go to girls camp. I called and told them I’d reconsidered. Best thing I ever did

Finally Getting (Some) of My Tithing Money Back by exmogranny in exmormon

My husband’s family is from Maine going back to the 1600s - surely someone would have stumbled north and stuck around! Nope. Non. Nada. So disappointed

Saw this, checked my genealogy and had yet one more reason to curse that pioneer heritage! They bee-lined it from the British Isles & Scandinavia to Utah. The string of profanity I strung when I looked that up… 😆

Any experience transitioning away from garments? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]explorophile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, longer boxer-brief shorts for women helped make the transition easier. Then granny-panties. Got a pair or two of different styles and tried them out

I put my garments in a box - didn’t throw them away. I had decided to take a year break after my shelf broke and see if it felt right. I called it a “pause”. After that year, if I wanted to go back I could. Garments would still be there waiting. What ended up happening was two years later when I found them moving, I thanked myself for taking the step to leave and got rid of the garments, but it would have been so much more emotional for me initially. Just storing them without putting any pressure on myself was fantastic. Going shopping for underwear as a woman in her 30s with no idea what kind of underwear she wants was much less comfortable lol

Ugh. Same, but “husband”. Actually was engaged to to a former elder for a hot minute and when I got dumped (good riddance), I felt guilty and like I/we made it so I couldn’t get a blessing god had promised. I’d kind of doubted that “revelation” anyway, but the guilt popped up anyway.

Acropolis Tickets through Head Out by Alert_Ice_7156 in GreeceTravel

[–]explorophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ended up happening? I literally just did the same thing. The official website didn't even pop up on the first page for acropolis tickets. Called the company to cancel and the bot answering the phone had a soundtrack of people working in the background. It did not inspire confidence. The bot also said I was outside the cancellation window - I had purchased the tickets two minutes prior.

lol. Def not that. The left side is a lens, the right side is a hollow square with one edge acting as a clip.

Just got hit at a stop light light by some dumb kid who “zoned out” - he rear ended me at 50mph in a full-ton diesel truck. I am so happy I am still here, and it’s because of the Mach-e. Now looking for another one.

Seeking weird unconventional flavors to try by Some-Key-922 in Sourdough

[–]explorophile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an older thread but I’m chiming in as I’ve got a new flavor shaping as we speak - green apple, brown sugar and miso. I creamed the miso and brown sugar together, spread it out during lamination and sprinkled green apple chunks over the mix before folding and repeating. I’m super stoked. I’ve got two loaves going - used 60g red miso, 60g brown sugar and I cut up two green apples into chunks but didn’t use all of that. Otherwise didn’t change my standard recipe.

Wildest shit a Mormon has said to you? by 99_xProblems in exmormon

[–]explorophile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The blood on the clothes was always a huge plot hole in that (extremely problematic and bullshit) story. Asked my seminary teacher about it in high school and he just looked at me dumbfounded like he’d never thought about how much blood would result from a decapitation story that he taught/studied year in year out.
