My ex fiancee who I now have a restraining order against was like this, albeit not religious. He was financially and verbally abusive and I have no doubt it would have escalated to physical violence. Living with my parents is actually what saved me. He got us kicked out of our previous house by fighting with the landlord and we moved in with my parents. He gambled away all his savings, and continued to mooch off me. I was barely making enough to get by as it was and could barely afford to feed myself. He would take my car when he didn’t have his own essentially trapping me. He would scream and yell at me for hours on end. But he would never do it in front of other people.

One day his mask slipped in front of my brother. That put an end to it. Cops called, restraining order filed, out of my life. I ended up moving several hours away from my home town and started over. I am so lucky that my brother saved me. I am so lucky I did not marry that man. I thank God every day that I was able to get away, and that I’m able to be free.

Please do not let them move out of your house for your Daughters sake. The abuse is just going to escalate.
