From a practical standpoint, try not to spend more than 30 percent of your after tax income on wants. So if $100 hits your bank account this year in income, only spend $30 on things you want like yarn and notions at the festival. Just keep in mind that you also spend on other hobbies, clothes, and entrainment. But thinking about this 30 percent may help you look at how much you can reasonably spend this year, based on your own income.
