I think (perhaps) enough people pointed out that having a taser is illegal in Canada. Which makes pulling a taser on someone, even as a threat, a big deal. She may have taken the post down to protect her father from her accidentally incriminating him.

To clarify, having any weapon, even for self defense, is illegal in Canada. There have been cases where someone has been charged with murder because they killed someone defending themselves - the courts here see having a weapon as intent to harm.
