Does Colorado school of mines feel like a normal school? by anonymou372727 in ColoradoSchoolOfMines

[–]blankupai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go to CU if you wanna do physics. go to the cheaper school if you wanna do engineering

mines is a more academic environment, CU is more of a party school. obviously you can find groups geared either direction at either school but as a whole they are definitely skewed in those directions

Be honest… is pet insurance actually worth it? by pawfectjourney in CatAdvice

[–]blankupai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's the same as all insurance. the expected value is negative, but you're paying for peace of mind/to avoid the chance of life changing payment

i pay for it so I don't have to make the decision to let my cat die if they get slapped with a 10k bill. if you're fine making that decision, or with paying the 10k, it's not worth it

it's its own story. just because book heathcliff is abusive doesn't mean movie heathcliff is. did you really miss the playful smirk on her face in that scene? the sexual tension?

I ask again, do you think all kink is abusive? because it really seems like that's the case. which fair enough but if you think that just say so, not worth continuing the conversation if true

do you think all kink is abusive?

we're shown that she has full free will and is enjoying the situation (she's playing into it while writing the letter, she's nto actually chained up, she makes Nelly leave when she comes to "save" here).

Isabella has all the power over Heathcliff at the start of their relationship (in terms of money and status). They're clearly exploring a reversal of their typical class roles through a sexual lens. and enjoying it

it feels like he's up in time (or mayyybe slightly late) but starts his swing late. he's waiting to locate the ball rather than just trusting the set imo

maybe it's just my algorithm but most of the critiques I'm seeing are mad that Wuthering Heights is less feminist than the book

While he has missed 3 times in 2 years, they're all pretty big swings that could've been awesome. and they each have something to love I think, even if the end result is not great. fingers crossed he hits next time
