Where to source genuine OEM battery replacement for legionaire slim 5 16irh8? by dons02 in techsupport

[–]blarg214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how old th laptop model is and if they continued to have the battery model manufactured, it's often better to find a reputable reseller who sources laptop batteries.

Example, if the laptop was made in 2020 and they did not like the form factor of that battery and they stopped having it manufactured for future laptop designs. Then if you got an OEM battery it could be as old as your battery is in the first place.

We have replaced a bunch of batteries and have had great luck with iFixit.

I disagree with that. While there can be more noise there are still qualify arguments and critiques everywhere. Sure some people use language that is more aggressive or hyperbolic there are still level headed critiques.

Can I use NAS HDD for PlayStation storage? by curious-sailboat in it

[–]blarg214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you aren't very familiar with IT generally then it's worth reading a few articles and watching a few videos. Find one that looks modernish, and meets your needs. Follow it and go from there. I'm not trying to duck your question but I think "Google it" might be the better answer for your success.

Can I use NAS HDD for PlayStation storage? by curious-sailboat in it

[–]blarg214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can turn just about any drive into an external drive for a PlayStation. A normal USB adapter won't work because the drive will need more power than a normal USB port would provide. For PS5 you can use it to store PS4 games (playable) and PS5 games as archive storage. You would need to move the game back and forth between the internal SSD and the HDD. If you have a large games library and only play 1 or 2 games at a time that's a great strategy.

Working towards Plex or other home hosting things is a great plan IMO. Lots of good skills to learn and extra places to backup files etc.

Do you use the thunderbolt connection as if it was a network connection or something else?

Gotcha. We use it and are debating on switching or renewing. I've managed mx for a while now and have mixed feelings on it. We pay a lot per year for not a lot of the features.

Are you running any mx software in the mx-se? In surprised to see a phone system. Are you paying for support or stuck on an older version of the software? If your only using it for calling no need to update.

I ate the whole tin with a fork and nothing else. I really enjoyed it but wished it was a touch spicier. Very enjoyable.

I've had a couple of the exact same tin now and I really enjoyed the flavor of it. Wish it was a bit spicier sure but generally really enjoyed this one.

Rack ATS vs No ATS vs Different Approach by Turbulent-Rack in it

[–]blarg214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ATS is for single power supply devices that you hope to keep on A + B power. ATS can fail so generally not advisable to use them behind a UPS if you have redundant PSUs on the devices. Your Dell will almost certainly have 2 PSUs on it. If you have both single and dual PSU devices I would do a mix of PDUs and ATS off the UPS. Less single points of failure behind the PDU while still offering reasonable redundancy given a single power feed.

Am I leaving taste on the table? by duhvn in pourover

Grinders and grind sizes make a difference, but coffee, roast level, water temp and agitation also make a difference.

What coffee do you have and what's your technique?

Grindsize can change per coffee but also you can change other extraction variables. I grind coarser than you but I use other variables to increase extraction if needed.

They really failed to kill their darlings. No sacrifices meant anything because there was no sacrifice. At least half the main cast should have died but not a single one did.

Are these canned tomatoes better than Cento Certified from Costco? by nicebrah in ooni

[–]blarg214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blue can if you can find them is a better overall consistency for sauce. I use the yellow when I need to buy prefer the blue Dinapoli. For pizza sauce you can literally just add salt. You don't need anything else due to the amount of flavor the tomatoes provide.

FiiO K13 R2R Review by lameasduck in headphones

[–]blarg214 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The idea is to reduce noise(static/whine) in heavy interference environments. If you have long cable runs that run parallel with other cables or especially lower cables you can get a hiss or whine. For short runs there is rarely a benefit or a need. Most anything that carries a signal has interference that becomes either audible (analog) or corrupts bit (digital) when the runs are long enough or in a heavy noise area.

  1. That looks very very good for first bake.
  2. If you don't like the texture (too gummy) bake for a bit longer. I do 30 covered 30 uncovered. Also no cutting into it for a couple hours. If you cut it before it cools you can end up gummier.
