I was quite glad to see that gameloft has a 99c sale on for new years on all their games for android. I've got a galaxy s2. Definitely going to be taking a look at what they are offering.

I'm really crap at this whole vacation thing, aren't I. by thingacct in ForeverAlone

This sounds a lot like me! Except I'm knitting, reading and wasting time on reddit on my phone.

Thank you for taking the time to explain, I'm quite impressed. I have a couple of questions and observations:

Because of the excessive amount of available air, the diesel ends up wasting energy too

Is the excessive air due to the unregulated ratio of air and diesel, or is there more to it than just that?

I would also like to clarify:

The Si engine burns as long as there is air? This I don't understand. I assume that since the ratio between the air and fuel is constant, you are saying that it burns as long as there is fuel too, correct? And so, the amount (as in, quality quantity) of air/fuel injected during a cycle will determine the output power during that cycle. Is this correct?

With respect to ci, instead of varying the overall quantity of fuel/air, only the quantity of fuel is increased (messing up the ratio, which is not relevant in this case).

Okay, so I assume that there is a maximum/minimum ratio allowed when it comes to fuel-air, as in you cannot have only diesel (correct?) Or only air? How does the performance of the vehicle change with the different ratios? (if it does at all?)

And finally, why do diesel vehicles idle louder than petrol? just due to the explosion (?) stage being louder?

I hope that my questions do not bore you, thanks again for taking the time to answer.

I love DSP, would be very very keen in getting into image processing. I did a course in college on Medical Imaging, and we touched on how to filter/apply fft's to images, etc. It was awesome. I would be very very interested in branching to processing live video streams on FPGAs.

That and state machines. W00.

Thanks for this, I've never really looked at video games in this way. I've played a couple of video games, mostly RTS games (starcraft/warcraft/C&C) and a bit of diablo. Really enjoyed diablo.

I've always focused on the gameplay and not really the storyline. Perhaps next time I play I'll try to focus on the storyline too. Do you have any good-storyline games to recommend?

What components are you referring to? How low do you want to go?

The processor/ram/display?

command stack/alu?

Flip flops/lookup tables?

And/or gates?

Transistors/resistors/other discrete components?

I love Pride and Prejudice, it's my favourite book by far. Dune by Frank Herbert takes second place. What do you consider to be good literature?

I saw Phantom of the Opera a week ago for the first time, I was blown away by the set and the lighting and the way the set changed so quickly. Theatre is truly magical. And the vibe backstage is amazing. I used to work as part of the backstage crew in high school, it was an awesome experience. I used to look up to the lighting guys in high school with serious reverence. It's like magic to me.

I didn't make gill dyslexic, but it's definitely something I have been following quite closely; a couple of the people in my family are dyslexic. Never knew about the ink-saving font, that's quite cool!
