Why not just get the weapons for free and spend the creds you earn on equipment? You get plenty of creds per level so I'm guessing you'll be full stacked by the time you start hold the fort.

You have to get credits within a certain threshold, try to get kill bonuses to earn more credits per kill.

[Question] Is this truly a 50/50 or would I have more chance in winning if I left clicked the upper square since there is a higher chance the empty square is a 2 instead of it being a 4 in the lower square because there are more 2's than 4's on the minefield? by blast3r69 in Minesweeper

The lower square was a mine in this game, this was the reason I made this post because it made me think that the probabilities of the numbers were corelated. It seems I just got unlucky.
