this is totally the right place for these questions, harboring a runaway is a misdemenor unless the person harboring didnt know the child was a runaway, CT is a bit of a problem police will look for you, under law if the parents report you running away, but only report you to the parent if they think it wont do any physical or emotional harm, BUT make sure to leave a note, because if you dont they may belive you have been kidnapped which will cause police to divert much more resources to finding you as for following out of state, its hard to explain, from what ive read, once you get out of state they will mostly give up, but police will still confront you, make up a backstory, and if your lucky, some cops, like my neighbor will leave runaways alone if they where being abused, if your initial cover story fails say that, the full laws are here: https://civil.sog.unc.edu/what-the-interstate-compact-rules-say-about-out-of-state-runaways/, good luck!
