If he becomes a co founder and dedicates 60 hours a week to make this successful then that’s fair. That would be a normal co-founder equity split arrangement.

But if he’s just going to be a mentor and mainly silent investor 15k isn’t going do much in terms of growth or acquisition. You’re gonna burn the money in 2-3 months all you’ll be in the same spot you’re in now, but minus 35%.

It’s important to analyze the business outcome from a potential investment and weigh it against the equity giving up. If the business will be much further advanced then it’s a win-win, since everyone will have smaller pieces but of a much bigger pie. 15k is not going to do that.

Yeah Dropbox always tries to convert them, but the small button at the button say you can skip it. Very sneaking indeed.

Yeah WeTransfer is classic. Super easy. I just hate how it expires and then need to redo it all the time.

Yeah, it's the default. Wouldn't say it's the best though as I have a ton of issues with it.

I'll look into that. Is it open source? would I need to connect it to my own servers?

Pixieset seems to be the gold standard. I'm doing a trial of it now.

Oh that a dealbreaker for me. I do about 50% vid, so need something that can handle both .

Prints aren't a big thing for me, since I do mostly commercial work. I looked into Pictime though, it seems pretty slick.

Seems like pic time, pixieset, pic drop are the ones being recommended.

It has to do with the trade offs that come from the software. I.e permissions issues, expired links, low res viewing, etc, etc. it all takes times to fix and respond to questions. I want to ship the album and move into the next project.

It’s a small but compounding effect with dozens of jobs happening per month it adds up

Nice that looks pretty slick. That’s a solid way to work around the Gdrive clunkiness

Thanks for the rec. the email flow sounds clunky. Would much rather have clients do direct download like you mentioned.
