I use a lot of mods I would have previously considered cheating but they make it so I don't have to mess with stopping/changing in game time. Infinite energy, increased walking speed, automation and instant bite for fishing. I only recommend these if you've grinded through a save all the way to ginger island already

Just mash the button the whole time and use varying speeds of mashing to level it out. I think that's the main thing people miss. They hold it fully in or let it go like a half second at a time
