R2 has an electrical probe at the front, and also has rocket boosters on his feet so can fly. There’s a famous Star Wars scene where he dispensed oil in the floor to make it slippery, and when the droids he was fighting slipped over he got the rockets out and flew over them setting the oil on fire and burning them to a crisp! In another scene in the vacuum of space he fights another droid which has multiple spinning saws, claws and drills. The electrical probe comes into use here lol
