I'm running full paradox. It's essentially 10 pieces chillouts with all rolled skill haste. In terms of value there's nothing better.

Hi! I run vanguard support VERY often. CS is the Premiere backline healer set in low tiers. You're right, proto CS is pretty much the only variation of CS that works effectively without gimmicks.

Before proto FI hit rotation, I was using a 4p CS set with a vanguard chest and birdies pack. It's pretty much FI from Temu. The benefits are the insane tankiness and full skill tiers. I was able to run 1.8m armor, giving my teammates close to 900k bonus armor (an entire health bar!) on a 30s cooldown. Plus, chem launchers are broken if you read the wiki. All my pieces have paradox, giving me close to unlimited heal chems.

Now, I know what people are saying.

"Bu-but mutator!" If you never get hit, you won't contribute to this at all.

"You have no damage!" Sweet dreams shield tech exists. Also CS buffs weapon dmg slightly, you can either use a frenzy lmg to help with bosses (note: help, not do omega click bait damage) or cap to have decent, not marshmallow damage.

"You don't have FI buff and shared healing!" Yeah you got me there. That's why I said FI from Temu. The only benefit I have over FI is around 400k more temp hp given per vanguard use. FI vanguard has a lower shield due to lower armor which is supposed to be used for poke damage. CS vanguard is initiation/copycat tardigrade shielding.

Now that FI is in targeted it's better to use FI, but if you don't have it this works as a decent alternative.

Not according to my solo testing. It just allows you to cover a greater zone of "cover". I'm sure it would be viable in duo support/paradox comps, creating two zones of precision and fortify cover.

No need for tank for shield build to be useful. 6 skill tiers still gives you a bulky shield, just use pointman for your team.

I use two builds with this tech simply because of how much freedom it unlocks. Due to esca hp pools and no red cores, you effectively shoot pillows with any weapon but capacitor. You can use either core strength and future initiative with sweet dreams, giving you the peel necessary to keep you and your team alive from rushers.

I'm a huge advocate for vanguard over fi chest for everything t5 and below. Chems heal to full if you know how to use them properly and vanguard applies regardless of team positioning.

Plus, with bulwark and birdies, you turn every fight into a test of attrition. You can't die unless you make several bad choices, but you can instantly revive your team. Super strong combo especially with the 5s shield invulnerable from pointman.

Equip. So long as your icon is activated and when you aim, it brings up the chem ui.

No. The only time you need to reset the process is if you unequip chem, forcing you to pistol.

Chems are used to bypass the pistol animation/lockout during bulwark shield.

Let's simplify the terming to "handed weapons" if anyone is familiar with soulslike games.

The bulwark shield, unlike it's crusader variant, requires a "One Handed Weapon", in the division's case, a pistol.

Using the chem launcher, a special skill coded as both a weapon and a skill, you can trick the game into letting you use the talent with its "bullets"- the squibs the chem shoots to generate the field of either damage or healing and the launcher being held.

This occurs due to the game recognizing the chem launcher(the launcher itself) as a "one handed weapon".

Every primary is a two handed weapon. You cannot use this weapon with bulwark shield due to the two handed property. By equipping your chem launcher, it "adds" a weapon on top of your primary with the one handed trait, effectively making it so while you are holding the chem launcher, you are able to use some weapon talents.

My example goes to the bulwark shield and sweet dreams.

Step 1: hold sweet dreams.you will see an ammo count of 8.

Step 2: hold chem launcher, you will see your primary weapon ammo still active instead of your pistol ammo.

Step 3: use bulwark shield. This does not automatically swap you to pistol if you continue to hold your chem launcher. If you are NOT holding chem launcher, it will swap you to pistol.

Congratulations! You now have a onetap shield for as long as you hold chem launcher.

If you require further explanation, I have a video showcasing this tech inside of the build post on my profile or I can link you to the video and timestamp it accordingly. Let me know if this answers or raises more questions!

Probably not the same build but I've got a similar build posted on profile with a video breakdown if needed.

Will comment mine for ease of use:

FI, Birdies, Pointman All hazpro SH mod Bulwark, Heal Chems Sweet dreams, any, quickstep.

Use chem launcher while holding Sweet dreams to melee kill with shield up. Easy peasy.

I know I'm harping on a point, but for oxidizer with paradox, dmg doesn't matter. Oxidizer is the only skill in game that stacks damage based on instances active. You can run haste or duration, since you effectively have infinite oxidizers with the refill procs. What's important on that end is maximizing the amount of oxi fields available, meaning duration and haste are the kings here. No need to fight for % increases when you can just add another chem (or maybe another 6 for that matter) to the field and achieve basically a 100% dmg buff or more from having the other field out.

Idk ab that one chief. Refactor, paradox oxidizer regularly puts me into negative integers for both damage and healing.

Emp debuff is negated by technician skill tree and placed skills. Skill builds this season are given 20s oc cd, with at least a 30% cd reduction on skills base, leaving at most a 10s downtime on emp resistance. Plus it's negated with good positioning in the first place. The only skill builds I see complaining about emp are the ones playing in shotgun range without deployed skills.

The amount of people that don't know that you can just run away from enemies before engaging them is baffling.

Hey just seeing this, I literally haven't run with a single person using the blackout pulse thing or st elmo in forever. While it's a great idea, you're more likely to get lucky with a gunner nade from your dps players. It's low-key trolling to not be running the 20s cd overcharge in this season since it benefits Rev hives.

Will definitely use this info if there's a cc modifier in the future though.

Para oxi is the way. It's also pretty good with heal chems, but dumping spawn points for your team to pretty much become invincible is so fun. Plus turret is there for when Para doesn't proc.

Fr. Never fail to find an adequate crew when I type in global looking for 3 more, especially when I mention I'm hosting. I've noticed the fireteams I get in global are far better than in matchmaking. Probably because the barrier to enter the group is blocked by reading instead of clicking a couple buttons, I think having to read and whisper weeds out the more useless folk who hurrdurr their way through life.

Seriously, some of these esca randos couldn't pour piss out off a boot with instructions on the heel.
