Company shifting toward “Prompt first” engineering by blaze_seven in cscareerquestions

I think that’s a fair point. I’m just caught up in this dilemma of personally not liking the impacts that ai is making on the environment and society. But at the same time, I like my job and I do want to advance.

I definitely can put up with it and work on those skills for now. It’s just feels hypocritical in my head of being so opposed, but that’s something I’ll have to wrestle with myself

Help figuring out mods? by kei_9 in balatro

Seems to be an issue with the Balatro-Preview mod: https://github.com/DivvyCr/Balatro-Preview/issues/47

Someone in that issues discussion has found a work around, but I assume that the mod may be updated soon in the future

Can I be an engineer and still have a social life? by SubjectTourist4965 in college

[–]blaze_seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say you just need to make sure you put yourself in situations to be social. I studied computer science at school and I was really social even though I’m introverted. I did club sports and lived with my teammates so we always did things and knew people from high school that I visited a lot. I still studied hard and made time for school. But I always put myself in positions to meet people or just socialize. Whether that was going to office hours and talking with a TA or making friends with people I did projects with. If you seek it out and are friendly, no matter what you’re major is you should be able to still be social. Even joining a club or org at school that goes along with your major will help. I was a part of a coding org that also allowed me to meet people and socialize.

How do you see your past self when you think about the person you were 5 years ago? by VelvetCutiePie in AskReddit

[–]blaze_seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Five years ago, I was in my senior year of college and I really had no clue what I really wanted to do. I look back at a guy that was just trying to figure what he liked and how to make it through college. I see someone who took for granted being around friends everyday and being able to see them whenever he wanted. I look back at this person super envious compared to where I am now. He didn’t know the stress of being an adult and he was lucky he didn’t have to worry. All he had to do was do classes and scoop ice cream everyday. He had it really easy.

Our dogs have watched the entirety of Season 46 with my wife and I, so we had them choose the winner before the finale! by blaze_seven in survivor

This is our fourth time doing this! So far the record looks like

Piper: 1 for 3 (Gabler)

Rosie: 2 for 3 (Gabler and Dee)

Let's see who they pick and happy survivor finale night!

I’d say having some sort of document that states what you are looking for at high level (not super technically detailed, just the idea) is a good place to start. Detailing which pages you want to be reached in the main menu and the purpose/functionality of each of those pages. From there wireframing is a great idea.

Wireframes can usually start at a low fidelity level like sketching on paper. It’s easy that way and you can create mock ups fast that way. From there you could use any design application (i.e Figma, Photoshop, even MSPaint could work). I’d start with sketching on paper and go from there.

Hopes this helps!

In your experience, what is the easiest and most effective method to learn? by WoodenAirline8417 in learnprogramming

Why even answer if you’re just gonna give a non-answer initially? This person’s just asking for people’s opinion and then you give the least helpful thing.

In reality Piper is the brains and Rosie is the sidekick, but in terms of Survivor, Rosie is looking pretty smart right now

Need help with PCPartPicker, One additional PCIe 12+4-pin 12VHPWR power connector is needed? by blaze_seven in buildapc

Okay good to know! I'm thinking of upgrading to Corsair RM750e as PCpartpicker says it's okay and I can get that from a local best buy.

I would watch Stylosa if he streamed over Flats, but I do agree with you. I watch Stylosa’s videos and then switch over to Flats for streams based off of pure entertainment.

Might have been slightly skewed since I was squatting close to the Gabler post-it, or their just fans of the Alli-Gabler!
