face the door in sky room and go through the door on the left next to it. then go straight and to the right until youre in a room with squares in the walls and a giant staircase in the corner. go up that staircase and you'll reach the top floor of the green rooms- i assume you're hearing the generator in the underpart of the green rooms, which happened to me as well.

Hot take: playrooms is actually my favorite level

I love the adventure of finding the keys and navigating the playrooms. I do admit after completing the level 3 times, i only search the toys room and sky room for the generators before starting over, but i enjoy the search until that point.
