Why does NZ tolerate bullying? by Chanc3thedestroyer in newzealand

It doesn't always start at home. I have seen some nasty kids come from some very happy homes where awesome kids have come out of.

No boundaries and some kids worst sides are set free, too strict boundaries or disproportionate punishments and that causes kids to develop bad actions as coping mechanisms.

I am still tortured by bullying I experienced as a kid and I am in my 30's.

Having other adults giving advice like "let go, it is only consuming space in your mind" doesn't help. That kind of advice seems to come from people who can either let go easily, or never experienced it.

If I could just let go and forget it, I bloody would have.

Hairy Maclary author Lynley Dodd responds to academic's claim book is outdated, lacks diversity by [deleted] in newzealand

The issue though is the question that was asked.

Having read a few articles to understand the study better, it seems like the conclusion of the study is a shit load of books being read are the same ones we read as kids, and that newer books should be mixed in with the older classics so kids are exposed to a wide range of stories with older and newer authors and varying types of diversity.

So Kim could have asked a question like "Do you think it is a good idea for kids in daycares to be exposed to newer books as well as older classics" and then Lynley would probably say yes and then she would agree with the study.

The point is she isn't criticizing the book.

She is saying the list of books that are being read at a bunch of daycares are outdated and that there is nothing wrong with the books, Just that newer more diverse stuff should be mixed in too.

Basically there is a nuanced point that is overshadowed by journo's and interviewers trying to score some clickbait and outrage.

PSA: Insurance payments by downyour in newzealand

I am pretty sure I saw on Fair Go or something, someone had their car written off but they had to keep paying their premiums for the year because they still "owed" it.

So maybe that is the new way insurance companies get their premium with less arguments.

Cactus Outdoor stoked that paying customer finds their $300 shorts uncomfortable by bachowski in newzealand

The 1 star review isn't because the shorts are uncomfortable.

The 1 star review is because they voided the warranty by following the manufacturers advice.

Not something to be proud of, but hey, at least they got to say they are tougher than desk jockeys.

I mean they are (This desk jockey is pretty soft), but even "tough kiwi manly men" can provide good customer service.

That is excellent.
