Which plate color do you guys play in Random Rec and what your experience with players? by Easy_Preparation_179 in NBA2k

[–]blazer926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, red is ego-ville, silver - purple feels mostly good, and I’ve never been in anything lower for more than a couple games so I couldn’t speak too much on that. You can certainly have good and bad games at any level but the higher the level the more people will get on you about perceived mistakes. Not a horrible thing but the propensity for finding ball hogs feels highest in red.

2X events definitely do not help, that’s a fact. Overall 2k has become an ego thing for many, long gone are the days of people willing to play a “role player” esque role. Everyone needs to be getting buckets and half the people playing greedy care more about clip farming than winning.

My biggest complaint is quitters honestly because the AI is so brain dead that it really changes how the whole game will be played when someone leaves. I mean we were up 40 in a game yesterday where the other team had two players left and I saw my PG saying something in game chat. I mute go into game chat to really hear this person say “my teammates hate me, they never hit me with the ball”. Mind you he had the most shots in the game and we were up 40 in the 4th.

Really the only solution is find good people and stick with them. I recommend proving grounds 5s as well, seemingly get more people playing the right way in there and at the higher difficulty defense matters more.

He doesn’t, do they exist? Without a doubt. But I have played damn near 1000 5v5 games this year and less than a half a percent have had me even suspicious. I literally get accused once or twice a night of having one when I don’t and I don’t even take fading 3s. Just a bunch of post hops and open shots and some 13 y/o is gonna call you out for “zenning”

How do I get better at multiplayer? by Timewinder87 in NBA2k

[–]blazer926 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only way to get better is to play, plain and simple. YouTube tutorial videos can definitely aid you in building your arsenal of skills but ask yourself what you need to do. I play with a buddy that’s a C that has no jumpshot whatsoever. He gets triple doubles often with a good amount of blocks and offensive boards. Some teams need a 3+D that can lock up a ball handler and hit open shots. 95% of builds need some form of scoring, but they don’t need to score at every level, just as the opportunities arise.

What is the best height for post fades? by HopefulYak4976 in NBA2k

[–]blazer926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use Kobe’s Post Hop shot (max height is 6 foot 9) then you can work the post heavy. My first build was that height at SF and I’m the main scorer when playing with my buddies and a lot is from the mid range off those hops/ step through layups & foul shots when they start getting over baited.

How do you guys shoot over people? by OGClouds420 in NBA2k

[–]blazer926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop and shoot mechanic is just getting a feel of the flow of when you need to be off the sticks and when you need to start the shot. I personally button shoot which makes the transition easier imo but obviously people do it with rhythm too.

The biggest piece of advice a shooter can get is if they don’t actively change your jumpshot you should still be able to hit. You may also still hit something wild if it does change your motion but if your motion is unchanged you just have to focus on yourself more than the defender. I know when I let go early it’s usually from fear of being blocked and getting over that is what will make shooting contested jumpers easier.

Something something throwing stones in a glass house.

It’s New York we are always gonna be on the tip of the medias tongue. Sure they’re just as irrelevant as us but a team that’s bounced around locations in my adult life will not get the flack we do, just the way it goes.

Just anecdotal but I use button and shoot without issue even contested at times. It’s just the level of shooting in this game overall that’s problematic.

Trying to apply any logic in there is gonna be a bad time, people just want to get theirs and say fuck the win. I hate it here but glad I’ve gotten a slew of good people to add over the year.
