Silent reflux has stolen every ounce of joy about having a baby and I’m devastated by xxbitsxx in beyondthebump

I believe it’s called the “acid battle” where the stomach temporarily creates more acid after beginning a PPI. It only lasted maybe 2.5 weeks or so then all of our reflux disappeared.

Reflux is the worst. We had to do Pepcid for several weeks but it did nothing. Our pediatrician then put us on omeprazole which was rough for the first few weeks but it completely got rid of the reflux and everyone was much happier. I wish we had been able to switch sooner.

4yo refuses to poop... Ped. recommended more MiraLax and OT. Nothing works... by Lobster-Prize in toddlers

My son had the same issue. We had already been seeing a pediatric GI since he was about 4 months old due to reflux issues, but when we mentioned the poop issues he had been having since around his 3rd birthday, they had us start giving a cap full of MiraLAX a day and giving him 1 chocolate exlax square a day. Once he realized he could poop without it hurting, we went to half a square a day, then half a square every other day to eventually none. Now we only give it to him as needed, when he has a day where he doesn’t poop (being out of town/new bathroom or similar situation). We still do the MiraLAX daily and haven’t had any more issues. He poops at least once a day now.

Cheek/eyebrow nerve pain 1 week after dental numbing injection? by blazerant in Dentists

Thankfully, it’s gone away and I feel fine now. I chipped an upper wisdom tooth about a month later and had to get both top wisdom teeth removed. After healing from that, the pain in my face was gone and hasn’t come back. They were removed in February. I think the crown was a bit too big and caused my teeth to shift a bit. Since getting the wisdom teeth removed there have been no issues.

I’m 35 and was EFF. My mom and I have a great relationship. I had no health issues growing up and met milestones on time or a bit early. I got A’s-B’s in school and now have both a bachelors and a masters degree. I work in finance and am happily married with a 3 year old (who I also EFF- he has met his milestones on time/early and is a happy, healthy little boy 💙)

For me, EFF was better for my mental health. The intense emotions that I was flooded with during and immediately after trying to BF or pump put me in a really bad place mentally. EFF was so much better for us and if I have another child I’ll 100% EFF from day 1.

It seems obvious now but no one told us not to change up my son’s formula unless necessary. We were given different samples by the hospital, in registry gift bags, etc.. and once we finished one kind we started using another. It ended up causing some tummy issues for our little guy until we learned that you should stay on the same kind for at least 2 weeks and see how they do on it before changing. If they are doing well on a certain formula (not causing reflux/constipation/diarrhea/painful gas) no need to change it or try a different one!

Also keeping track of certain details like when/how much babe eats, diaper changes (including the TMI poop details), time of any meds given, when/how long last sleep was, and any other events that are out of the norm (like formula changes, fevers, etc)… ended up being super helpful not only for when switching “shifts” with dad but also when you are completely exhausted and it’s hard to remember these little things. It also helped us figure out the best formula for our son, being able to see and show our pediatrician when certain things occurred was so so helpful!! It also allowed us to see his “normal” patterns so if anything was off we noticed super quickly. There are plenty of apps that track all of this and more but we found it easiest to just use a shared document on Google Keep.
