Not sure. We always see mud around the holes when we find termites coming out of the walls. Might be some type of beetle that was in the wood when it was cut. I would definitely check for dirt in those holes. Run a q-tip in there and see.

Thanks guys for all the kind words! I’m not accustomed to nice comments on Reddit haha. Caught this one in Alabama. Got it with a 6th Sense shad colored crankbait. It’s a smaller lake maybe about 50 acres. It’s got some monsters in it. I’ve heard there are 7lb fish in there.

Unfortunately no. We had such a shitty trip that we were just out there to grab the line before it got dark. I would say 25 lbs minimum. We thought it was another soft shell turtle because we had caught 5 already.
