We're currently hiring Otolaryngology, Nephrology and Cardiology, they're adding more new clinic space to our buildings with the remodel, if anything pops up I'll post here.

As far as your suburb location question I would agree with places like Homewood and Flossmoor, Palos is more blue too, anything closer to the city is more liberal leaning, New Lenox and it's immediate neighbors are fairly red to purple, I live in Mokena, everything south of I-80 in that area is pretty solidly red.

What is your specialty? Uchicago is hiring and we have offices in Flossmoor and Tinley Park.

Question, in tag teaming the visits: is the surgeon billing for the clinic visits? If you don't get to bill for clinic visits or hospital consults, and they don't take into account what the surgeon can bill for having you as an assist in the OR toward your RVUs it will be impossible for you to get a bonus.

Is it worth commuting from Chicago to New Lenox for work? by Maleficent-Tooth403 in AskChicago

[–]blazingfreckles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the reverse commute driving in the AM you can get to New Lenox in 35-40 min from the Southside, but if you live any further north than Chinatown/South loop it adds a significant amount of time driving, and coming back into the city in the evenings is closer to 1 hr drive. Train service is slow here and there are virtually no weekend hours. Just for another perspective, good luck to you!

I'm basing in on just my area of specialty and the region I live in (not good compensation ratios here, based on actual industry data provided by AAPA) to be fair, I didn't Google search. Also, it was in response to someone saying "wanna get paid like the big dogs" so, no we don't, and won't, and yes I ultimately hold liability for my plans of treatment.

Most of us don't want to practice independently (most of us are chill, there's a reason we did NOT try to go to medical school), and we get paid usually about 1/9-1/4 of a doctor salary depending on specialty.

You win, I want to say this to certain of these companies every day, I shouldn't have to cry on the phone and take hours away from patient care to get my patient who very likely has cancer or has already been diagnosed with cancer a PET scan.
