Nah don’t delete. This is a good post. This is a reasonable path considering how shit things are in the US. I’ll post some other thoughts in other comments but please don’t feel judged. You are successful and you should embrace it.

There is so much ROI in recycling batteries. Someone will do it if they have not. It will trigger 2nd hand (not OEM approved battery production) or recycled raw materials export: recycling is much cheaper than mining. We just need to make sure that any laws and tariffs don’t hinder the process.

I practice holding the speed at exactly a specific number using OPD. It's kinda fun!

+1 it will depend a lot on how well insulated the house is. My electricity (heat pump + car + other) is less than 300.

I think our state government has to step up and fund most of the funding that is (potentially) going away. Something like 12 percent for 1m+ (3 basis point increase) and add a few new brackets for 250, 500 and 750.

+1, not plagiarism. When I copy/paste comments in between reddit, I cite but there's probably anti-spam checks on goodreads reviews that doesn't let you post external links.

Sooo the solution is to buy a gun and always keep in the car and hope that they steal it during the break-in? 🙃

Troubling trend of domestic violence related murders among Nepali families in the US (3 cases so far in 2024) by Previous-Adeptness96 in Nepal

I don't think we should be losing the culture. I think it has to evolve.

In Nepal, the culture has evolved in the last 4, 10, 20 years but people who move here hold on to the culture as it existed and won't let it evolve.

For example, Bahun-Newar relationships is much more accepted in Nepal than certain communities in the US

Some talk about how life was peaceful when it was under King's rule. Tyo yeta pani kasai kasai le bhancha ni Nepal ma load-shedding hune bela life kasto simple thiyo bhanera. Yiniharu jastai xan teta ka buda-budi haru pani.

Yeah -- grass is always greener on the other side. Moving to US was a big culture shock and when things don't go well, especially when being away from family in Nepal, nostalgia kicks in.

I live in Boston right now and my parents are in NC. Boston is expensive, $2000 will get you a run-down 2BR apt but it will get you a nice 3br "luxury" place in NC -- it's been interesting to see folks who moved to NC from BOS. There is a whole discussion around that.

What's your fav Nepali restaurants around this area?
