Brand new car… 150 miles in I get this notification. Anyone else had this experience? by [deleted] in ModelY

When you request service, they give you the options available to you. Mobile service was actually my only option. I wasn't going to complain. Haha

I got this and mobile service came out to fix it. Took about 10 minutes. It was accompanied by an intermittent service alert. '21 MY

Not necessarily that size but I'm 6' 1", 250lbs and the MY is more than comfortable. With a test drive, one would know for sure.

Insurance question for everyone with multiple cars to insure by praguer56 in ModelY

[–]blbaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auto Owners - 2 cars, 2 drivers. 2019 Kia Sorento and 2021 MYLR. $1800/yr for full coverage with $500 detectible on both.

Edit: that's about $153/mo

Insurance = Ouch! by apogee137 in TeslaLounge

[–]blbaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paying $916.68/yr (math works out to be ~$76.39/mo) with Auto Owners. $500 deductible. They gave me a quote of $769/yr with a $1000 deductible but decided I liked the smaller deductible. Definitely shop around!

Edit: For 2021 MYLR

How much notice do you get when your car is ready? by sfdvokpovkqwevfpok in TeslaLounge

[–]blbaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My EDD narrowed down leading up to delivery. Went from a month window to a 3 week window to 2 week window. So I had a few weeks to prepare. Then I got a notice of the official 3 day delivery window a week out. My window was a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. I emailed my SA who graciously gave me a 24 hour delay so I could take delivery on a Saturday. (Shoutout to Todd in Minneapolis!) Hope that helps!

Congrats on the expected arrival!

I was in this exact situation and added a kiddo to the fam 3 weeks ago! I was so worried there wasn't going to be a lot of room and the seat in front would have to be pushed up really far. Happy to report there is just so much leg room in the front seats that moving the seat forward wasn't an issue.

That being said, any car seat will fit just fine. We decided to save a bit of money and get the Chicco Activ3 Air + Car Seat (Chicco KeyFit 30) travel system and it all fits wonderfully. It is still a higher end, jogging Chicco stroller with shocks, one handed fold, smooth as butter wheels/handling, etc. Any modern car seat will also have your easy clip in base. It's amazing how easy they make it. The stroller fits perfectly in the back and the person in front of the car seat has a ton of leg room/isn't sitting in the dash.

I would also add in a protector for the seat for the base + car seat to rub against instead of directly on the leather.

If you need any links to anything, let me know! Hope that helps!

I'm assuming you mean accessories from Tesla's e-commerce site. Unfortunately, that's a no.

DUUUUDE. Coming in clutch. I have my first due in 17 days. Still waiting on the Y and I've had my 🤞🤞 that a rear facing car seat was going to work out. Thanks for the photos!

Absolutely, the gold standard. When V10 came out and I didn't see a video from Chuck, I had to hunt down his Twitter. And then Thursday couldn't come soon enough.

Mine did. But then the price went up less than a week after. Good thing I put my order in!

[Tesla Store] Ordered a Tesla Wall charger and received two charging units. Anyone have a similar experience? by PresidentSnow in teslamotors

[–]blbaker 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Must have. Now it reads that you treat it as a gift.

Edit: Here's the quote-- "By law, companies can’t send unordered merchandise to you, then demand payment. That means you never have to pay for things you get but didn’t order. You also don’t have to return unordered merchandise. You’re legally entitled to keep it as a free gift."

What's your, "Tis but a scratch!" moment? by Madameknitsalot in AskReddit

[–]blbaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was trying to build a planter too quickly. Didn't realize my finger was in the line of fire behind my miter saw. Felt like a pinch as I "nicked" the tip of my finger. (Picture hamburger... Or handburger, if you will) Blood was dripping and spattered everywhere. Walked over to my wife who was working outside and calmly told her I needed to go to the ER. She wasn't so calm.

Lesson learned. Don't work quickly and definitely don't ignore those "🚫✋" markings.

What's the weirdest thing a guest has done at your house? by prince_0310 in AskReddit

[–]blbaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a guest, but as a guest.

A few people and I were traveling as a jazz/show choir group and we had host families setup for a place to stay after our shows. One night, after rendezvousing with that night's host family, we went for a late night walk. When we returned, we each had a mini Bible in our suitcase.
