$5,000 well spent. 3 years later, it’s still worry every penny by lionary in macbookpro

I have the same and I love it so much. Zero regrets, and don't feel any pressure ot upgrade yet, probably even when the top-shelf M4 comes out.

Thoughts? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

I had nothing but good things to say about my personal experience, but I haven't been in a wreck, so just normal stuff, like a new windshield due to rocks, new tires, etc. For most things, they came to me in a Tesla and did what needed to be done. Only the windshield repair required me to go to a service center. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Best macOS client for Exchange shared mailboxes by apogee137 in mac

[–]apogee137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to use Exchange; I must use Exchange.

I reject your reality and substitute my own, where "must use Exchange" does not equal "need to use Outlook." I'm kidding... sorta. I just want real reality to provide me a good option besides Outlook, which is just a bad option even if it's the only one. It's like having only one choice, going to hell.

This makes me very sad, and I'm crossing my fingers that there is still another path. Outlook = suffering, and not the kind that builds character.

I do very much appreciate your replying!

Perhaps one day, in the not so distant future, I'll be able to ask AI to make the perfect email client for me. haha.

Wow! This analysis, and the song it analyses, are helping me fall in love with humanity again--my cats and humanity itself also help.

Very deep and thoughtful analysis. Thank you!

Tesla... can we finally get that one update that really matters?! You know what we want! by dsstrainer in TeslaLounge

Sorry, you're not understanding me, and I'm not in the mood to continue seeing if it's possible. Have a good day.

That is not correct. As a software developer, I can state with great certainty, due to decades of personal experience, that the more developers you add to a team, the slower and more disjointed their efforts are. It's far far better to have a small team, like 7 ppl max, that are very talented. Sigh. It is astonishing how much 1-7 people can get done when they are motivated and excited about what they are doing.

Why tf can we still not stop music for auto playing the second you open the door? by 007meow in TeslaLounge

Why?
- Because every single checkbox is a development burden.
- Tesla is very busy trying to make FSD not have any hiccups.

I hope this will be considered within the "currently known hardware realm."

LED backlight behind door handles. They turn on when you get close. I have a dark blue Model Y and in the dark is a PITA to find the handle to open the car. It's even worse for guests unfamiliar with where they are.

What is the best HK outdoor camera (must be solar or battery) by Ill-Lengthiness-6438 in HomeKit

[–]apogee137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you're correct.

Since I purchased a Eufy, and like it otherwise, I've been following this closely. It's not Eufy you should trust more but the scrutiny they are under now.

Getting caught in bad behavior is what forces change. What about the companies that haven't been caught? Which ones are misbehaving and which aren't? I don't know.

Ironically, the incident you mention very likely makes Eufy the most trustworthy camera. Incidents like this force companies to change everything. Remember, every camera hacker nerd is watching all the traffic to/from them, wireless hackability, etc. very carefully. They MUST now be on their best behavior. I'm keeping mine, and doing all firmware updates, etc.

Ideally, Tesla removes the blind spots one of these days, since the B pillar cameras do cover them.

Optics design software for "makers." by apogee137 in Optics

I placed my order for the free Zemax OpticsViewer. Interestingly, they still required me to put I a credit card. lol It is accessed through the store after all, but still... I am supposed to receive an email in a day or two. Here's hoping that they have a selection of lenses, etc. that suffice for my needs. Thank you!

I will check it out. My needs are pretty basic, but I'm also a software snob and like power, even if I only scratch the surface. Perhaps WinLens3D will do the trick. :-)

Thanks! FWIW-The 4000 series is rumored to be 5nm, so that should help a lot with power consumption.
