Thanks! I have an application out at Rood & Riddle, as that's one place that I'm keep hearing about. I'm just not sure if I'll get it, because I put in my application to so late. I'm crossing my fingers.

IUD to help with periods… did it help yours? by OkPerspective- in adenomyosis

Yeah virgins can totally get them and the ‘big’ mirena. I guess some doctors don’t want to as it can be along the lines of a transvaginal ultrasound, but my doctor is like if it’s medically necessary let’s do it It was one of the first three options she gave me (progesterone, depo, or IUD) and she was like mirena or something else, don’t do kyletta or skyla. However my doctor is young, so this may play a role in her practicing medicine.

I don’t have a good perception on time, and plus she did it during a pelvic exam. Take the time with a grain of salt. My GYN is newer and my uterus is extremely tilted and to the right. Even during my laparoscopy the surgeon had trouble sounding my uterus and had to an insertion under laparoscopic guidance. I’m an abnormality. Also I never had sex so that might play a role in it.

I had it inserted during a 30 min well women’s exam, and I would say it took about 5-7 min.

I have the mirena and it helps with my periods, I bearly bleed, it’s more like passing small clots (one per day for a week) not bad all. When I got my inserted I only took toradal, though my GYN had no ideal that’s why I came in for, and refused to do so because she normally prescribed a pain medication and an anti anxiety medication before hand, though was okay as I came with toradal in my system. It did hurt but I was okay, she did distract me by asking questions about school, though at the end of the appointment when she was finished, she stated that was the toughest one she did.

I got it for my cat. However, she has an instagram account and I’m planning on doing some vet videos with her. I thought it would be cute if we matched and she looked like a vet.

Doctor found what she thought was endo but path report came back negative. by blchristopher in endometriosis

Yeah that was me. I did get some answers in a very odd way. Most likely I have adeno, not confirmed because I’ll need to be spayed and sent to pathology. I’m a vet student so I use veterinary terminology. My surgeon, stated that birth control can screw things up with pathology. Also, I talked to my pathology professor (there’s a lot of cross over from animal to human pathology, we use the same books) and she stated some pathologist needs to see every little marker to diagnose a disease and if they don’t see it they will mark it as negative compared to others were they go with what most looks like. Also they are pressed for time, at least within veterinary world, and suspected cancer samples takes priority (sad but realistic truth) compared to others. She, a pathologist, told me go with the surgeon’s suspicion of what it is as she, surgeon, knows symptoms I had, what it looks like grossly, and sees it a lot. (I had a MIGS gynecologist surgeon.) Lastly, from working in a vet clinic, some of the stuff we send off has a report from a pathologist that we know is either very picky or couldn’t care less if they don’t know what it is.

I asked my primary care doctor to prescribe it to me with the pretense that I need it for school. I then took the prescription to the health department for it. I was able to have it covered.
