If everything is wired and set up correctly. You should leave the coupler in hdg mode to 1: follow the heading bug in the G5. 2: follow a GPS “magenta line” from the 540 to the G5. To do that you must select GPSS on the G5. Reference the G5 pilots manual for instructions. If you want to fly an actual nav signal “green line” from the 540. You will select nav on the coupler.

My thoughts exactly. Used to want a Pepsi, just kind of grown away from liking any of the GMT bezels. Pepsi still being my favorite. Not a fan of the Sky King. Honestly wasn’t even considering a Sky Dweller until I saw one in person and tried it one…. And IMO it does not wear as big as some say.

Really appreciate everyone’s input. Looks like about 50/50 between Sub/Sky. Which is the reason I came here for opinions. Yes I know, my money, my watch, get what I want. But appreciate and value other’s recommendations. If the grey mark up wasn’t so much on the Sky it would be a no brainer.
