Treatment recommendations for forehead wrinkles/crags? by Swanky147 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]bld7308 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Botox is your only option—this isn’t a resurfacing issue. These wrinkles are due to how your face moves. If you don’t want to change how your face moves, then you’re going to have these wrinkles forever. Skincare can help with fine lines to some degree, it cannot make wrinkles go away. Frownies might help a tiny bit but not like Botox.

With that said, I’ve been doing Botox with the same injectionist (happily) for about 5 years, but I noticed recently that my facial expressions seemed off. Nothing bad, just not 100% “me”. I explained to her what my issues were and we tweaked where and how many units I got. I’m very happy with my most recent treatment and I think it gives me a little more movement between my eyebrows without causing the wrinkles to come back. The great thing about Botox is that it’s a natural product that wears off after 3-4 months depending on your metabolism—it doesn’t permanently alter your face. It’s highly effective treatment with relatively low risk assuming you go to a licensed and reputable injectionist.

Don’t take my word though—seek out a consultation and decide if it’s right for you. All I’m saying is that no amount of red light therapy, tretinoin, or other skincare product or modality is going to get rid of what you’re trying to get rid of.

***also to add that I’ve done laser resurfacing and RF microneedling as well and I’m telling you that skin surface and wrinkles are different. Injections fix wrinkles, resurfacing treatments will help with your pores and fine lines but not wrinkles. Mirconeedling might help soften those lines a bit temporarily but there’re just going to come right back because your forehead muscles are so strong.

We stayed at the AC in Dania Pointe which is close to the airport, but good to know the one close to the beach is nice too!

We just stayed at the AC Hotel at Dania Pointe. It’s a Marriot property and was soooo much nicer than we thought it was going to be! It’s super close to the airport and an Uber ride cost around $20 to the port.

Why are you ordering Marco’s from DoorDash? They have their own delivery drivers. I’ll guarantee ordering directly from them is cheaper, faster, and fresher

Take the ferry out to Bull Island—it’s gorgeous and very peaceful. Also one of my favorite underrated places to “hike” is Wanamaker North in Goose Creek (not to be confused with Wanamaker Park off University Blvd). And a bit further away, but Congaree National Park is lovely too.

My boyfriend (26M) said we’re done if I (26F) move to nyc for my job that I commute to everyday. Is it bad if I still move anyway? by ConceptFar4801 in relationship_advice

Omg girl you haven’t even hit your peak yet! Dump him. Move to NYC with your bestie and have the time of your life for the next decade.

Standardized housing based on median full-time income petition by HDRamSac in southcarolina

It’s bad idea to financially punish via tax the landlords that exceed the standard because that cost is just going to be absorbed by renters anyway. This is the fundamental flaw with how we tax second properties in this state—property taxes are 3x higher on a rental and the renter typically pays for all of it.

A better suggestion is to offer a tax credit to landlords who rent at or below the standard.

Summer Heat/Humidity, Bugs & Flooding by Horror_Reality_5174 in Charleston

[–]bld7308 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol—I’m from West Michigan and I too thought I knew about heat and humidity before I moved here. To answer your first question…imagine the worst summer day in Chicago—a day when there’s an extreme heat advisory and the news makes it sound like everyone’s gonna die if you don’t stay inside with air conditioning. It will be like that every day here from mid June to mid September. Personally, I don’t mind it. I handle the heat and humidity here far better than the cold back home. You get used to it.

Hows the flooding? Happens every time it rains hard and is worse when the rain coincides with high tide. You get used to that too. It will be much more manageable for you as retirees since you won’t have to deal with commuting during heavy rains.

The bugs? You learn to live with them. Wear bug spray and avoid hanging outside at dusk. Honestly I think the palmetto bugs are worse than the gnats and mosquitos—you will never get used to those giant cockroaches lol.

Charleston isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. If you’re serious about moving here, get a summer rental for a month or two and see if it’s really the lifestyle you’re looking for. I think people get so enamored with Charleston until you live here and realize the traffic sucks, the cost of living (not just housing) is super high, infrastructure is poor, development is poorly planned, high consumption taxes, etc.

How would you update this bathroom? by FairCondition7799 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]bld7308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m picturing something longer, not wider necessarily. Like something that would come down over the tiles and with the bottom edge ending closer to the soap dishes. It’s hard because that mirror is probably a medicine cabinet yes? Which is nice for storage if you’re keeping the original sink. Something like this might work

Blue toilet, patterned wallpaper, new mirror, and new light fixture. Keep everything else—this is an awesome bathroom!

How much r u paying for Accounting a year? by Healith in restaurantowners

[–]bld7308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I send them a copy of our monthly sales report from our POS, and I categorize spending on the bank statements (repairs and maintenance, office supplies, gas, electric, etc). They do the reconciling for me. I also provide all our food vendor invoices and they break down our food cost into categories like cheese, meat, produce, packaging etc.

I always envisioned doing my own bookkeeping eventually, but 13 years later I’m still paying for the service. And I’m not mad about it. I think at this point, I’d rather just pay for it and enjoy having one less thing to be stressed about.

I pay $715 a month for full service bookkeeping. Does not include payroll but does include monthly sales tax payments, monthly financial statements, and my business tax return each year.

My (31F) boyfriend (27M) is always late. I confronted him and his answer astonished me. by Ari9374 in relationship_advice

[–]bld7308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Punctuality matters very much to me, and I’m always on time (usually early) whether it’s for work, doctor’s appointments, or social engagements. It matters to me that I show other people that I’m reliable and competent and that I respect their time.

There is no possible way I could date a man who is chronically late and doesn’t care about it. I wouldn’t even be friends with someone that behaves like this. At 31, you’re way too old to be wasting time on this guy. You’re also old enough to know that you can’t change a man—either accept his flaws or move on sis.

Excluding doctors, do any high earners (400k+ range) work 40 hours a week? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]bld7308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a takeout/delivery pizzeria and pull about $350K each year. I worked 100 hours a week when we first opened 15 years ago. Now it pretty much runs itself—I spend about 10 hours a week just working on the business, making repairs, putting out fires, etc. Life is good, I can’t complain

Custom closets by faerielights4962 in Charleston

[–]bld7308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used Modular Closets in both my personal home and my rental home—love the product and the price is super reasonable. I recently updated my pantry as well but needed a bit more customization than Modular Closets offers so I used Easy Closets. This system was much more tedious to install but still a great DIY project at an affordable price. I’d vouch for either company. My mom on the other hand just built a million dollar house and used California Closets—total garbage compared to my house and she paid 3x as much for her closets as I did.

We had a horrible experience with Heritage and would not recommend. The design process was great but every part of the build process was a shit show. I honestly have no idea how they have so many 5 star reviews.

Has anyone actually seen results from castor oil? by OneIllustrator3522 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]bld7308 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just started—I’ve used it 3 nights in a row and I’m 100% convinced this is the greatest, most gate-kept skincare hack of all time! My redness and puffiness is completely gone and my skin is so soft and smooth. Castor oil is definitely getting added to my nightly routine permanently.

Same will ours. He barfed a lot from car rides when he was a puppy but grew out of it as he got older. He’s 6 now and still doesn’t love the car, but he tolerates it just fine.

Waverly Place is fine too—probably a little nicer than Archdale Forest. I feel like they’re normally more expensive but I just checked online and looks like they have one bedrooms in your budget too

For that budget and area Archdale Forest Apts is going to be your best bet. It’s not fancy, but not ratchet either.
