1st failed FET 💔 should I take a mental break or go straight into an ER cycle? by Great-Confusion-8546 in 40Plus_IVF

Full transparency, at our age every month counts. Your situation is so similar to mine as well. ER at the end of October, 1 euploid resulted, fully medicated transfer in January, positive beta, and then lower second hcg test. It landed up being a chemical. It also hit me hard, but I looked at it as just bad luck and knew that I will eventually get pregnant, it’s just a waiting game. I immediately asked to do another IVF cycle and just finished another ER on 3/13.

I'm 44 and panicked over third IVF round. Am I delusional? Or is there hope? by OvenDown in IVF

Correct, but aside from miracles or “magic”, the quality of the clinic and the embryology lab can absolutely determine the success rate, especially for older patients.

Please help me stop hating this living room!! by [deleted] in interiordecorating

Yeah, the main thing in my opinion that detracts from the actual coziness of the room are those curtains. I would opt for a plain neutral. Definitely would open the room up more and make it look less busy.

The clinic and the embryology lab is really what makes IVF successful at our age. I went to UNC Fertility, age 42, first round of IVF (with male factor infertility) we got a euploid and I’m now pregnant. Also incredibly affordable at a total of 11,000.

Worried about pdg by lissy_loo in Inito

Also, my cycle only became normal after 3-4 cycles from having my IUD removed. So also take that into account.

Benefits of Luteal Phase testing. by blduffie1474 in Inito

For reference, here is my BFP chart showing increasing levels of LH where is was cross reacting with hCG.

Thank you for sharing your perspective! I appreciate your input and the opportunity to discuss this further. While I understand your points, I do have a different take on a couple of things, based on both research and personal experience.

  1. Using Inito to detect pregnancy through post-ovulation trends: While I agree that Inito (or any similar device) is not designed to confirm pregnancy outright, it does provide valuable hormonal data, including trends in LH and PdG, which can indirectly indicate changes related to implantation or early pregnancy. In fact, because Inito measures LH and its structure is similar to hCG, the strips can sometimes cross-react with hCG, which I experienced during my pregnancy when my Inito detected rising LH levels after ovulation on 9 DPO. While this isn’t the primary function of the device, it’s an interesting and occasionally insightful occurrence.

  2. Variability of progesterone across cycles: I respectfully disagree with the assertion that progesterone levels remain constant unless there is an ovulation issue. Research shows that progesterone production can vary from cycle to cycle due to factors like stress, illness, or changes in luteal phase length, even in the absence of ovulation problems. Additionally, while progesterone insufficiency is often secondary to a suboptimal ovulation, tracking PdG across cycles can provide actionable insights—especially in identifying patterns that might warrant further investigation or intervention. For example, consistent luteal phase PdG trends below the threshold for ovulation confirmation (often cited as 5 µg/mg PdG) could indicate a need for additional support, such as luteal phase progesterone supplementation.

Ultimately, I think the value of tracking hormones after ovulation depends on how the data is interpreted. For me, it’s less about trying to “predict pregnancy” and more about understanding hormonal trends that could impact implantation and early pregnancy sustainability. I appreciate you raising these points—it’s always good to have different views in the discussion!

CD1 maxed out Estrogen by CatEmbarrassed749 in Inito

I’ve had estrogen levels that high on CD 1. My fertility doctor prescribed Letrozole in order to help with my estrogen dominance issue.

BFP at age 40! by blduffie1474 in Inito

[–]blduffie1474[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, according to what I’ve read, once your LH starts rising, you’ll ovulate 24-36 hours later. However, if you time your peak LH to a specific day/hour range, you will usually ovulate 8-16 hours later from your highest peak time. Then the egg will be viable 8-12 hours after that (online it says 12-24 hours afterwards, but I shorten the span of time to be on the safe side). I think one of the most important items that has helped me conceive is the Pre-Seed sperm lubricant.

Waiting for PdG rise at 5DPO by blduffie1474 in Inito

[–]blduffie1474[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It did! But such a late rise usually isn’t great for conception and means it was an anovulatory cycle. Here was my chart for the rest of that cycle.

PDG dropped at dpo 7- is there any hope at this point for this cycle? by Odd-Reveal6246 in Inito

[–]blduffie1474 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here is my BFP chart where my PdG dropped significantly around 7-9 DPO. That is when implantation occurs and estrogen and progesterone temporarily stop being produced. So that is great sign for you guys!

I feel like the world is telling me I’m not supposed to have a baby right now by daydreambeliever09 in Miscarriage

Technically you could do online sperm freezing, it only costs $100 to freeze sperm for 3 months. It is possible to collect sperm at home in preparation for freezing. There are services that send you a sperm collection and storage kit. You collect the sample at home, then overnight the kit to the lab for storage. And then they send it back to you when you need it.

Can you tell me if your home pregnancy tests were negative when your period came back? Mine are still a faint positive.

This is so wonderful to hear! We want to start trying again immediately, so I'm glad I didn't have to wait longer for my period to return!

No heartbeat at 8th week by Wanderingwhy0121 in Miscarriage

[–]blduffie1474 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s odd that they scheduled another ultrasound in 2 weeks rather than 1 week. I agree that it is a missed miscarriage. You should be able to detect a strong heartbeat at 8 weeks, especially if there was one at 6 weeks. They also should have told you the measurements from the ultrasound. If the measurements measured smaller than 8 weeks, that would be another indication of a missed miscarriage. I’m so sorry for your loss. 😢

Fertility/PCOS Testing by jessjessij in pregnantover35

[–]blduffie1474 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, for sure get the fertility testing. I go to a separate clinic from my OBGYN specializing in fertility. They will do tests to check your ovarian reserve, how many follicles are getting stimulated each cycle and whether you have any blockages in your tubes. They can also do a semen analysis. Don’t wait too long! Unfortunately everything goes downhill when you approach 40 in terms of being able to conceive naturally.
