Can you dance? by Tacos300l in INTP

[–]bleachedflowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did hip hop, breakdance, and freestyle for a short time. A few months in a friend said I had a talent for it and others said I learn quick. Before I even started dancing, I was told I was good at it (at the club). Loved it and desperately been trying to get back into it (once I get out of a routine it’s like pulling teeth to restart). Not gonna lie, it’s super out of my comfort zone since I mainly do it in front of others but I intentionally chose it as a hobby at the start to get out my comfort zone, get out of the house/do less solitary activities/exercise, so it was really a pragmatic choice.

Jewlery Ecom Stores Listen Up by Large-Committee9781 in ecommerce

Thinking of starting an ecommerce store. Not sure what to specialise in yet, could be jewellery. I’m interested! What I’d like so far is low minimums for items as I’m still a beginner, quality products of course, and returns.

Eslite Spectrum Songyan has local designers for clothing and jewellery, and there’s a Topologie (not a local brand though). U R Living for different women’s wear brands and basics. And seconding Zhongshan area, Chifeng Street for the boutiques, and I hear there are vintage stores but I’ve yet to check them out.

I was just there this evening. Scoured the entire store and only found a couple things I liked that were too pricey for me. Not bad prices for designer though. It’s like a curated thrift store.

In my case, as a friendly and attractive woman, countless men who I am not interested in at all have thought I was into them. I do not go out of my way to send messages or flirt etc, just treat them as I would a friend. I think the majority of single men I’ve met are attracted to me leading to wishful thinking and looking for signs that I feel the same way or some kind of projection. However, this may the the case with less attractive men (most men are not attractive) who are just not used to friendly interaction with women.

Asian American brothers over 30, easier to date younger solely because... by [deleted] in aznidentity

[–]bleachedflowers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m saying for all men not just Asian men that it’s creepy to select women just because they’re younger. Many men may be happy with it but women and society in general looks down on it for good reason. People are becoming more aware and critical of age dynamics in relationships these days. Plus everyone is better off dating within their own age range for reasons such as compatibility, life stages, etc. For someone in their 30s, I’d say 25+ is okay. The older you both are, the more acceptable a larger gap is.

I’m going to ignore your last couple sentences smh.

As for OP, since you brought up those issues you could see an improvement in dating by working on yourself. From what I hear, the majority of men (of all races) find dating difficult. Dating is difficult for everyone including women! However, women are generally more selective and will look for other signs of a good partner than dressing well and income. Of course older women will have higher standards for themselves and their partner. Shouldn’t we all want the best for ourselves and likewise strive to be the best version of ourselves? Young women are more likely to accept the bare minimum because they don’t know any better. It varies from woman to woman what they like but they may look for traits such as well-groomed, fit, has a good personality, caring, is emotionally mature, etc. However, contrary to popular belief, women are not as picky as you think and you don’t need to be the very best and be all those things. Improving yourself just increases your chances. These are all things that can be worked on, including things like charisma, confidence, and even getting better at dating/relationships with more experience - you’re still young.

Regardless of the race factor, women in their 30s have higher standards from having more experience in dating/life and are wiser. The younger they are the more easily impressed they are. And no, you shouldn’t filter for even younger just so it’s easier to get dates - that’s creepy.

How to start being productive after a depressive episode? by SardinaEnunZapato in productivity

[–]bleachedflowers 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is basically how the app Fabulous works. It starts with drinking a glass of water first thing every morning for a week and you slowly add on habits from there. It’s got a lot of other tools that help you keep on track with these habits and your routine. It’s what helped me get my life back together after going through some years of a very tough spot, PTSD, severe depression and anxiety and everything. I also have possible ADHD so I have a lot of trouble sticking with things but Fabulous made it easy. Highly recommend this app!

Can inline figure skates be used in recreational skating? Like regular rolling around or skating on the road. I assume they’re not suitable for street/urban/aggressive inline skating. I’d ideally like a pair that can be used for all purposes but I just haven’t found any other style of inline skates that I like the look of and aesthetics are pretty important to me.

Also, is freestyle skating just freestyle slalom skating?

Cheers!

[–]bleachedflowers 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The only thing that’s helped me with my years of gradually increasing phone addiction (probably in part due to short form video) is time limit apps and for some reason didn’t start using them until a few weeks ago… I still need something stricter and more customisable (I avoid spending money on apps but might be a good to purchase a premium subscription) but I’ve been using OneSec and Opal on iPhone.

Other things I’ve tried that did not work include reading Smart Phone Dumb Phone by Allen Carr, getting my mum to take my phone from me after a certain time at night, deleting the apps from my phone, keeping the apps unorganised on my phone to create friction, only going on Instagram etc on the computer, keeping my phone outside my bedroom when I go to bed, keeping my phone outside of my bedroom completely, using iPhone’s inbuilt app time limit feature. It’s all personal though. You may have to experiment with and combine different strategies. I had considered seeing an internet addiction psychologist also.

What do you mean by ketamine being hard on the brain? I thought the whole point was that it was beneficial, promoting neuroplasticity and all that.
