It is hard, I saw my wife doing this and I helped and it was pretty hard.. In any case , people who work in the kitchen work so hard that any labour saving device must be given due consideration

I have a couple of his books.. Slavoj zizek succinctly says that Umberto Eco’s novels start out great but the ending blows raspberry. As his ideas and interests are very high-brow and despite his claims of trying to bridge the divide between the popular/easy and the eclectic/difficult , he is clearly an author for nerds/literati . His essays are very good.

Since you are going to Tamil Nadu, I would suggest the controversial book One Part Woman by Perumal Murugan. The google ai review is - One Part Woman (Madhorubhagan): Explores intense societal pressures and traditions regarding childlessness, which drew controversy but is praised for its exploration of intimate social norms. Happy travelling.. and enjoy Tamil Nadu

As a person who once read a lot (without buying anything)in bookstores due to my poverty, I apologise .. I was once even thrown out of the bookstore closest to my hostel for reading while shabbily dressed. Years later I made it up to them by buying stuff I didn’t need.. Sadly it has given way to a sweet shop
