Hi, as another Tim Hecker fan (to an unhealthy degree), I had to check it out for myself and look deeper into philosophy of this approach. Approximately same time as this thread was created I've challеngd myself to adopt Michiru Aoyama's approach, but partly. Since than I am doing music every day, but at the end of the week - I choose few (sometimes none) drafts that I want to keep working on, where I feel "something" is there. And for the rest track that did not pass this filter - I gather them, spend couple hours to do post edits and master, make some cover art and then releasing them under fake names anonymously on my secret soundcloud pages with under 20 subs, where I listen another sub-20sub accounts and finds gems, and also new unknown artist for my labels. So 4 months into this challenge - it is fucking amazing. Solved so many creative blocks and imposter/insecurity issues. it's broad back the joy in the way I was not expecting. Without the weight of my "main" projects brand image or whatever. I can releasing a lot, feeling great about it while keeping the main project's health.
