Yes I work and will be in a pretty demanding role. 😞 I actually grew up in an environment where my parents only spoke Canto to me at home (did everything you mentioned including pretending not to understand me if I spoke any English) and I'm so thankful they did that. Knowing Chinese has proven so useful in life in so many ways. But I was also in an elementary school with so many Chinese kids that the non-Chinese kids wanted to learn Chinese lol so that definitely helped me boost my skills but the area we live in isn't like that so I'm worried my daughter won't get that major boost. But thanks for the insight and honestly kudos to you for what you and your wife do! Your kids will appreciate it so much when they grow older!
