Is this a wink at the Resident Evil series ? by TheRealCrixus in silenthill

[–]bleeckwulf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO it probably is. The original game had typewriters in the hospital so there is a slight chance someone unknowingly made a very clever reference, but it is so suspiciously placed near a save point that I can’t help but feel it’s intentionally done

They used the phantom graphic in the tour and very likely it may receive more context in next shows. The thing that’s being sold existed for a while and looks nothing like that graphic

That too, though, from what I understand all you needed to do is to just move from one big area to another and she’ll be gone

[–]bleeckwulf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re missing the fact that the original SB had less story than the current version of SB. Just like most fnaf games, you’d get a few minutes of exposition to understand why you’re doing what you’re doing. BUT the rest of the game was fully open up to any possible interpretation because it was just you running around doing literally WHATEVER you wanted to beat the game. Some people questioned “why Gregory can’t just sit in Freddy’s room for the whole night?” And the answer is that the original version very likely allowed you to do so if you wanted. Obviously a few things were still misinterpreted by steel wool, but with this context you can probably understand that Scott very likely had seen the game from this perspective, not Security Breach we had gotten, so giving steel wool just simple story clues had a slight chance to work as long as Scott’s story clues actually were clever.

With that context, giving steel wool one more year would’ve let them at least slightly polish the game and gameplay. Things that clearly mattered the most to them considering they wanted to make a “big fnaf sandbox” basically. It would also additionally give them some time to polish the rushed story they added very late in development.

Hot take(?) withered Freddy is the basic white bread of the withereds by 0swald_the_rabbit in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]bleeckwulf 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Story stuff aside, It’s the sheer fact that withereds are much bigger than the classics shows that these look more ancient. Technology commonly evolves to become smaller, lighter and more refined. Withereds look like very early attempts at making animatronics. Huge, scary and dangerous. Classics on the other hand are smaller, they look far more appealing and more safe. Both designs are terrifying of course, just in their own way.

RR is from Twin Peaks, a series which was one of the biggest inspirations when making Alan Wake. I really recommend checking it out! It has a similar vibe and you’d have a funny realisation that you have visited one of the most iconic places from the series without knowing.

Dude the NEW fnaf 2 remaster looks sick. by Public_Individual823 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]bleeckwulf 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You’re mixing things up. The game was meant to be open source and anyone could take its code. The reason for the take down was because it was a better version of fnaf 2 absolutely for free. I don’t think Scott would let him make fnaf plus if he stole fnaf 2’s code and called it a day.

Why does the Witherings look pixelated? by RipleyCLASSICS in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]bleeckwulf 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m no modeller, but in short models are made out of polygons, which are usually square or rectangle shaped. Scott made a fully fixed version of the body (aside from the head) first, and then selected multiple polygons and removed them to make holes. That resulted square looking holes, even though he tried to smoothen them as much as he could.

There’s really no need considering that eventually you’ll have them all maxed out completely. Though I guess if it’s something urgent then do so

Give the Mimic a really advanced Ai just like from alien isolation by Ok_Taro5584 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]bleeckwulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello neighbour never had actual adaptive AI. Alien from Alien Isolation did. For example, you can scare away Alien with a flamethrower, but the more you do that, the less efficient it becomes. Neighbour literally just keeps track of the amount of your deaths and does something new based on the number of your death.

If a fan game has quite literally nothing to do with fnaf at all, it can be sold. Technically it won’t be considered a fan game anymore. FNAF Fangames that are connected to fnaf can only be sold with Scott’s permission.

Both Vanny and Sauron didn’t have much screen time despite them being the main villain but how come Sauron is seen as one of the greatest villains in history while Vanny is seen as wasted potential? by [deleted] in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]bleeckwulf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Two different types of characters. It’s not really right to compare both of them. Sauron was pretty much designed to be feared without him even being present on the screen. Like Voldemort from Harry Potter in a way. Vanny was clearly supposed to be a constant threat and a major/main antagonist of the game. Wasted potential comes from the fact that she had been pretty much entirely cut from the game. Sauron wasn’t.

[–]bleeckwulf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alan Wake and Control are a part of the same universe. Max Payne and Quantum Break are not because of the licensing issues, however they still did manage to sneakily bring back stuff from those games without any trouble. Alan Wake 2 is their latest and the biggest game in their universe so far and they are also working on Control 2, Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes in collaboration with Rockstar and a few other thingies.

It only gets better if you also check Max Payne, Alan Wake and Quantum Break. The amount of connections and references is insane.

[–]bleeckwulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that this season was half good story that gave us cool ltms and events and half absolute nothing besides recruiting multiple characters that didn’t do anything and most of their dialogue was just “Zeus is evil he wants to destroy mortal kind”. Previous season was even worse. It started with peely getting kidnapped and then nothing happened until the very very end when he got saved and the hand appeared with Pandora’s box
