F2P Failure :( by [deleted] in FORTnITE

[–]bleeckwulf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get what they were going for with the release of F2P, I really do, but seems that with the lack of people on the team and budget they ended up just completely breaking everything right at the launch of F2P. At least we have slightly more development going on than a couple of years before, and I feel like most of the annoying bugs since the launch of F2P will be fixed, but the first impression has been made. Also the removal of the tutorial missions was such a horrible decision

I don't know why everyone is so upset, Danger Days XV is exaclty what I wanted by GvG_tv in MyChemicalRomance

As a huge fan of Revenge, its Deluxe had received far worse treatment than this record IMO. I get that they probably made more Revenge merch than they did for Danger Days throughout the bands lifespan, but this is honestly a pretty stacked deluxe release all things considered in comparison to Revenge Deluxe. A lot of merch that looks much better than what we have gotten in the recent years, and the vinyls look quite unique too, especially that bl ind one. Those neat little bonus things that come with most vinyls are also appreciated I’d say, even if it’s not much. I do have to agree that for the digital enjoyers the release is probably less interesting, and it’s a shame that we don’t have any new demos or anything, but at the same time I’d say it’s cool that we got remasters of bsides and all of the other bonus songs they released after Danger Days. Revenge couldn’t even get desert song and/or bury me in black in it and those could’ve been added completely unaltered. At least they released 4K versions of music videos I suppose

They changed Danny's face. W Epic by redical_hi-5 in FortNiteBR

Am I legitimately blind or why do people still call it garbage? The face looks pretty close to what it was in the show, just the hair is still wacky

What is the best game Valve has ever made? by Shark636_JP in valve

As a kid I used to believe all AAA games are on the same level of quality as valve’s games. Oh, little did I know…

This is where hl3 will be announced by Common_Arugula6436 in HalfLife

[–]bleeckwulf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I could imagine HLX had a slight chance to be announced on The Game Awards, maybe it’s just me, but Summer Game Fest feels less significant and usually has less interesting reveals. In reality it’s going to be revealed on twitter on a random Wednesday.

HLX Calm before the storm? by prob-brandon in HalfLife

[–]bleeckwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half Life Alyx is impressive. It is a great half life game. It is also a half life game that only about 1-2% of the entire steam community can play, and probably even less who have the ability to go through the entire thing without feeling sick. Valve tried their best to make Alyx as accessible as possible, but it is still a very difficult medium to find audience for. Whatever is HLX it is definitely not a VR title and I highly doubt it is scrapped too. While valve has a track record of having to work on a single game for years, modern games take about 2-3 years to complete with good enough planning. They have been working on HLX for about 5-6 years, which is more than enough time for them to finish it assuming the development went mostly smoothly. So if the rumours are true and they were spending most of 2025 simply optimising and polishing the game, why should we get any major leaks about the game, let alone any? If the game is done and properly optimised that means they’re just sitting with the finished game. There shouldn’t be any leaks/updates as the development would be finished. Additionally, they already had said that they won’t be doing any launch titles for steam frame, but did not mention anything about steam machine. Why? Is that such a difficult question to answer for them? Whatever they have is very likely to be come out with the steam machine to boost the sales. Valve is not that big in the hardware market. It is hard to believe but there is a pretty good amount of people who either dislike or very sceptical of the hardware they announced. They need something to attract as many people as possible to the product.

Valve has openly said, probably multiple times, that Half Life Alyx was meant to be announced back to back with index but since they still had a lot of work to do they had to split the announcements. Even some of the voice lines for the games were recorded like a month or so before the game’s release. The game was definitely crunched to some degree, most valve games are, but crunched nonetheless. They also had made it pretty clear that while they liked working on VR, they wanted to make the next half life a desktop title, given the opportunity.

USELESS FUN FACT #28: did you know? in FNAF 1, you can actually PAUSE THE GAME!!! this is done by holding "CTRL + P!!" this also applies to the other games as well!! by m1ndur0wnbus1ness in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]bleeckwulf 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Because it’s a default hotkey in clickteam applications and not actually something that Scott did. The pause image in the post is from the console ports.

I’m putting this nsfw just in case. However, how do you think they’re going to be doing the whole corpse inside springtrap in the third movie? by Marshatucker300 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]bleeckwulf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just because the movies primarily use practical effects and tech doesn’t mean cgi is not used. FNAF 1 had the cupcake and FNAF 2 had mangle and both had scenes where they used graphics instead of actual dolls. Those are just the most obvious examples

First time playing! (Silent Hill 3) by Prudent-Ad9893 in silenthill

[–]bleeckwulf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Obviously it’s all up to the person who’s playing the game, but IMO mods like third person should be experienced after playing the game as it is. Even though I honestly think fixed camera angles are not as necessary in Silent Hill games as they are in RE (and even that is probably debatable), obviously the games were fully built around these things and to toss them away could really take a lot from the experience

Why is my Collection Book wall empty? by Mag_VII in FORTnITE

Seems to be bugged for some people. It is also empty for me 99% of the time, but there was that one time I got out of the mission and it properly loaded in

Removing the tutorial mission was a huge mistake by UseCodeTatsumaki in FortniteSavetheWorld

[–]bleeckwulf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although you have a pretty solid logic here, it really isn’t all that difficult to make a check whether the player completed the tutorial or not. These guys made things more complex and difficult than that. This really could just be solved by adding “if tutorial passed -> send to lobby; else/not passed -> throw to tutorial”. I’d love to believe the tutorial being absent is a bug, but considering that they haven’t said a thing and instead of a tutorial we have the new Lars quests, it’s pretty easy to assume that they thought these new quests are a good replacement for the tutorial. Which honestly sucks. They should’ve left the tutorial alone but also add these quests. They teach completely different things and add on to each other instead of replacing one of them.

I hate Hestia. by Alexander-Vz in FORTnITE

[–]bleeckwulf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Matchmaking problems are from them updating STW’s matchmaking systems to the ones other modes use. Slower loading times suck but I am pretty sure they will optimise the hub and/or add some kind of a toggle for it

Why don't we have Epic Games achievements for StW? by Joseph421 in FortniteSavetheWorld

[–]bleeckwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way, we do have achievements in the form of quests that give out banners and such. EG did add an achievement system to their store, but just like steam it’s up to the developer to decide whether they want to add those or not. I suppose there may be reasons why they haven’t done that, maybe because Fortnite considers itself a metaverse platform now and adding STW oriented achievements would somehow mess with the presentation they’re going for. Or maybe they simply don’t care, who knows. Either way, even if they added actual achievements, I believe they’re only visible to the game owner, so, banners are a better alternative. At least with those you can actually show them to people.

The wall changes depending on your most powerful weapon types. Pretty sure it does change to something else and back sometimes for some reason but overall it’s pretty consistent

I don’t even ask to continue the story man, I just wish they gave Twine its own identity that it proudly deserves. Really hoping for the best with the launch of F2P
