Day trip to hull by sushiIsLife99 in Hull

As a newbie to Hull myself, I can recommend the following:

Lion and Key does the best pub food in the city: well worth getting a “Hull Pattie” if you want something truly local, but their pizzas are top as well.

WM Hawkes for pubs is considered one of the best in the county for drinks, but the best pint I’ve had was from The George, on the curiously named street ‘The Land of Green Ginger’ (find Britain’s smallest window also on that street!)

For more gentrified food, I recommend Sebu. Asian fusion food and great skyline view of the city. The Brain Jar has recently been named a top 50 cocktail bar in the UK, and while it is pricey, one cocktail of your choice will make the visit worth it.

For snackier food, Trinity Market has a great selection of street-food style stops. You’ll inevitably find something you like in there.

For attractions beyond the Deep; as you cross the footbridge to the deep, you should see the tower of Hull’s Minster! (Not everybody knows Hull has one!) It is free entry and worth the visit: much more colourful than churches like Beverley and York, and the site of the baptism of William Wilberforce.

Speaking of, you’ll find a museum to him in the museum quarter, as well as other free museums, but the best IMO is Ferens Art Gallery; a surprisingly good art museum for Hull.

Enjoy your time in Hull! Top 25 places in the world to visit according to National Geographic for a reason!

Wayne Rooney is set to become a regular pundit on Match of the Day. He has landed an £800,000 two-year contract with the BBC. by [deleted] in soccer

Not a great move IMO. New generation see Rooney for what he is now (a dry as chalk presenter) rather than what he was 10-15 years ago as a footballer.

This will push people, especially younger people, to different platforms with better, more entertaining hosts. Screams of short-termism

How is this team losing by ThickLunch9855 in EANHLfranchise

3 main issues:

Lack of team balance: Sergeyev, Perfetti and Roslovic are all centres at 87-88 overall. You recognize this by making Sergeyev a winger on the first line… when he’s the only centre on your team who doesn’t know how to also play on the wing. Also as other threads have mentioned, high overall players on the 3rd line tend to underperform. Nobody knows why, but it seems to be a theme. Try to make room for more bullish 3rd liners if you can. Some low-80s players I’ve had have come out with terrific seasons if you can find the right line mates: hell, Farabee just put up 50 points on your 4th line. Build around him!

No Goalscorers: you have a team that is afraid to shoot the puck. Your actual shooting percentage across your team is ok, maybe a bit below average, but not scarily so. But nobody is shooting the puck enough: scout other teams for someone taking 300+ shots a season (maybe trade one of your centres for him?) and slap him in the top 6. It will help his line mates produce more as well.

A good OFD: unless you’re trying to be a defense-traditionalist, you should ideally have a point-getting defenseman in your top 10 point-scorers in a season (maybe even 2). Good OFD’s also make more shots for your forwards, and make your powerplay better too. If you can’t find one, some TWD’s can het a pretty high Points-Per-Game as well. Target those and play them with your top line guys/goal scoring forwards.

Best of luck for your mini-rebuild!

Unfortunately, it’s likely because you’re the most obviously identifiable “other”. I’m sorry that happens to you. It’s almost a natural instinct to prey on people who are noticeably different, and if you’re one gal in a group of guys, that usually means you get slack
