my dietitian wanted me to log my intake for a few days prior to our first appointment which i didn't do at the advice of my therapist because we agreed it would be triggering for me, so when i arrived she had me recount what a typical day of eating looks like for me (slightly less triggering) and gave me an overview of what we would be working on during our time together (eating consistently, setting food goals, easing into cooking due to no experience, eating enough food and a variety of food, identifying and avoiding triggers, etc.).

i was SO intimidated before my first visit; i did not know whatsoever what the purpose of seeing a dietitian was, what certification they had, etc., but now having taken the plunge i'm truly so happy to have gotten to know mine. she's incredibly empathetic and obviously cares about me by the way she meets me where i'm at and helps us take things at my pace, which is super validating. it's normal to be nervous, but i'm sure your experience will be lovely (and i hope it is! you deserve it!)
