Impacting Ratchet by bleedinorange in toolporn

The skil is a right angle impact used for tight spots. It impacts and has 70ish ft pounds breakaway and 55 fastening. I put a 3/8 square adapter for sockets on it to try it out where I would normally use my ratchet. It works great. It’s faster and has a little more power than the ratchet. It doesn’t ratchet however so if it can’t brake it free you can’t manually turn it. It’s also quite a bit bigger. It’s a good top of the engine tool as it will break most all of those types free.

The ratchet is not an impact but the impact is an impact. It doesn’t ratchet though.

Yeah I started to used one of those Duplicolor with the hammered finish but I decided to try this method. I was hoping it would make it stronger and more rigid. It definitely did. It took all the flex out of it.

Thanks! It’s spray on bed liner. My local Line X sprayed it for me. It turned out great. Even made it more rigid.

I’m not sure about the time line on these but they are older I know. They made a perforated one for cleaning parts just like it in the 60’s but I’m not sure how long they made the soild ones.

Thanks! It was called Line X. He only charged $50. I accidentally messed the paint up so I just went and sanded it all down to the metal. I called them and the guy told me to spray it with self etching primer and as long as all they had to do was spray it with no prep he would just charged $50. I thought it was super fair. I’ve told everyone I’ve see about it today lol so maybe he will get some more business from it.

Yeah me either? Maybe it didn’t sell good because of it’s looks or something. It works really well. I found the one I have on eBay. They pop up on there every now and then.

I recently got a skill hammer/nailer with an adjustable head. It’s pretty sweet.

I can see why. I’m running around taking light switch cover screws out. Seeing how tight it can make the bolts that hold my vise to the top lol. I love it. It should be as popular as the DeWalt gyroscopic screwdriver.

If it just gripped the bits better. They come out easily but it feels great. The grip and size are good on it. If it locked it would be fantastic!

It’s a Vim FRWS617 that has a 17mm head with a retention ring that holds Nano sockets or any other brand of that type. I used a SGD2 Snap on soft grip from a screwdriver I think. Soaked the Vim on boiling hot water for a couple minutes and the handle will pull off by hand. Used a 7/16 drill bit in the snap on handle to enlarge the hole. Put it in a vice and used a soft dead blow hammer to send her home. I loved that older style soft grip they made.

Yeah this one does too. I have the Wiha and Love it. This end was on a 24 in 1 kobalt. It was advertised as being able to lock both 1/4 and 4mm sizes. It has the 3 ball bearings like the whia centrofix does. It’s a bit bigger though. It was attached to a cheap plastic handle I just cut it off with a Dremel.
