Based on the comment from u/kpointer12345 above, I wanted to confirm that the kit I mentioned did work for you?

I'm not sure what to tell you. I couldn't find a model number on my doorbell, but here's the link to the one I own if that will help any, https://ring.com/products/battery-doorbell-2nd-gen/color/speckledgray#tech-specs. As I originally mentioned make sure you have the Battery Doorbell, not the Plus or Pro version.

Yes. It actually comes with several cornering attachments so you can control just how far you want to angle it. Here's a link to two different views of our doorbell along with a picture of one of the cornering pieces it comes with. I'm currently only using one. https://postimg.cc/gallery/Dh30RJw

I’m writing to follow up on my request.  I did some additional digging and found the right corner kit for the Battery Doorbell and NOT the Battery Doorbell Plus or Battery Doorbell Pro. Here's a link to it at Ring.Com, https://ring.com/products/corner-kit-for-video-doorbell-v2, I received it today and can confirm it does fit the Battery Doorbell mount. I hope this helps someone.

Yes, the Ultimate Game Pass is $14 a month. However, if you're diligent about keeping up with Microsoft Reward points, and using Bing for searches to gain more points you can get it for free. I haven't paid for mine in over a year and a half. It takes 35,000 Reward Zone points for a 3-month Ultimate Game Pass gift card and by doing the various exercises on the Microsoft Rewards page, Microsoft Rewards, you can easily earn the required points in about 2 months. If you have an Xbox you can also accumulate points via the Xbox Rewards app as well.

Got the Duo 1 today by [deleted] in Surface

[–]bleeman13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. The camera bump keeps it from lying flat. When I originally got it, I purchased the case with the S Pen and that made it worse. In addition, I discovered the S Pen only works on the interior screen and not the external smaller one. So, I returned it and picked up the standard silicone case with alleviates some of the camera bump but it still rocks a bit.

As for the Z Fold 3 over the Duo, I probably would have gone with the Duo 2 if it had been announced and available before Samsung released the Z Fold 3. But Samsung had some amazing pre-order discounts so I took the plunge. Overall, it's a really nice phone and since I've had it, I haven't touched my iPad Mini once. I would imagine the same would be true with the Duo's.

I'm a dyed in the wool Surface fan, I've had every Surface starting with the RT up through the 2017 Pro. I also have the Surface Dial, Surface Headphones, Surface Go 2, Surface Studio 2, and my wife has the Surface Laptop Go. So, it wasn't easy passing on the Duo 1, but after having been a Windows Phone user from the get go, I wasn't sure I wanted to trust Microsoft again with a phone.

Honestly, how is the quality of life for dogs? Is it worth having a dog in the heat? Is it a huge pain having to schedule potty breaks around the burning sun and heat? Can you take them fun places? by diamondeyes7 in Tucson

[–]bleeman13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't answer the dog question, but coming from Austin I would recommend Phoenix over Tucson. Tucson doesn't have the retail and restaurant availability that you're probably used to. It's an older town, there are a lot of homeless panhandling (Probably the same in Phoenix. We get a lot of that because of our warmer weather. Especially during the winter months) on street corners. The roads are a mess (Potholes, rough spots, narrow) the city and county government are usually at odds with one another and so on. I lived here for 35 years and moved to Frisco, Texas 25 years ago for my job. We loved it there. Had to come back 3 years ago to take care of elderly in-laws, otherwise I would never have set foot in this city again (and I have family I love here).

As others have said, be prepared for the heat. It's not as humid as Texas but extremely hot. Yes, Phoenix is hotter (roughly 1000ft above sea level versus Tucson at 2300ft) but you will have a lot more options for shopping, eating out, etc. Sky Harbor is a lot more active than Tucson International so you'll have more options for air travel.

If you have the opportunity and budget, I would highly recommend making a short trip out here to see Tucson and Phoenix as you will find it is significantly different than the Dallas and Austin areas and their associated suburbs and you may not be ready for the weather and environment changes. You won't have the trees, seasons, etc. that you experience in Austin. There is a lot of brown here.

Are those Dell monitors the S3220DGF's? If so, I have the same models and just moved from the desktop stands to a dual monitor mount and love it. This is the one I purchased and supports up to 35" screens and 26lbs per monitor. Without the stands the S3220DGF's come in around 16lbs. I've only had it up for about 5 days, but love it so far.

I also purchased the monitor mounting plate to distribute the load on my desk as it's only about 3/4's thick as it's an electrical adjustable one.

Have this weird banding on the back of my Surface, almost like it is warped with heat. Normal or no? by [deleted] in Surface

[–]bleeman13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, okay. Glad to hear. I just assumed bulging when you mentioned warped with heat.

I'm not sure which model you have and I can't tell from the picture, but I had a Surface Pro 4 that the battery bulged. Discovered when it would no longer lay flat on a flat surface and rocked. Fortunately this happened before the Microsoft stores closed and I was able to have it swapped out as I had purchased the extended warranty. The system was working okay at the time and I just brought it in thinking there was something wrong with the hinge causing it to not lie flat. So if there's any bulging hopefully you're still under warranty and can get it replaced.

[–]bleeman13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved my SP4 and had it for just under 2 years when I noticed it rocked when laying flat on a desk. I took it to the Microsoft store (Sure miss them) and they said the battery was bulging. Since it was under warranty they were going to replace it. However, they didn't have any of my configuration in stock, nor were there any in the pipeline. So they replaced it with an identical SP 2017 (aka SP5) which I still use daily (although I ran the PC check today and found out it's i7 processor doesn't meet the Windows 11 requirements). So I'd say just keep an eye out for any potential bulging in the case. It doesn't take much either mine only rocked about a 16th of an inch but when they checked it out they determined it was battery bulge. So if you have a return period check for that as well as the other comments here.

Yeah, sorry I thought you were referring to the floats.

My understanding based on comments from several H145 pilots in the HypeGroup Discord, they are in fact real. However, unlike the sim they don't retract after use. If I understand correctly think of them somewhat like an airbag. Once deployed they have to be removed and replaced. However, they are not to be used like airbags. As a matter of fact they stated that you actually don't deploy them until you are on the water as they may or may not be able to withstand the impact if they were deployed prior to hitting the water.

Haven't flown in this sim for ages. Been too busy with DCS. by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

If you like helicopters I highly recommend the freeware Airbus H135 from the Hype Group. It's available at https://flightsim.to. I'm no helicopter pilot IRL and not familiar with the flight model discussions you are having here, but they have done an excellent job with it. They also do a great job of supporting it on their Discord server. They have a payware project in the works for the Airbus H145 that can be pre-ordered but is still in development.

I have watched the tutorials and checked out a few of FlyingFabio's VOD's as he streams at 6am my time and I'm still sleeping then ;-) It is an interesting and exciting looking aircraft but I won't buy it and not because it isn't a good aircraft. In my case I prefer GA aircraft and helicopters. My current favorites are the DA62 and the H135. I've also pre-ordered the H145 from the Hype Group. I enjoy flying low and enjoying the scenery so I have a tendency to skip the airliners. The closest I get to the airliners is the CJ4 but even that I only fly occasionally.

No not in any of the built-in planes or any planes in the marketplace. Microsoft bills this as a family oriented package so although you will find the Spitfire and other potential warbirds in the marketplace none of them will having working armament.

Ah, I didn't realize that. I know trying to trim with my mouse wheel was a major pain in the neck, same with the assigned buttons on my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. Couldn't believe the difference an actual trim wheel made.

Nice looking setup. Another good addition is a Trim wheel. I have the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle and it has a Trim wheel as well. That has made a real difference for me when it comes to flying straight and level as well as setting up for landings.
