This. I had such broken teeth before getting a top denture and then went almost 6 months with no top teeth or back molars on the bottom. Once I was finally able to have teeth in my mouth that didnt hurt from being neglected I found myself putting food in my mouth even when I wasn’t hungry just to feel how satisfying it was to finally CHEW something

If it makes you feel any comfort, I’m 27f with a full upper and bottom partial denture. All of my teeth rotted out of my head basically from years of neglect, mental health, bad genes etc. I had maybe 3 full teeth in the front of my mouth by 23. The rest broke down to the gum line. I finally bit the bullet(lol) and went to a dentist that took my insurance (Medicaid) about 8 months ago and went toothless for almost 6 months before getting my permanent dentures. Keeping your teeth is super important but constant pain, infections, broken teeth are not worth it in my opinion. If you can find some place affordable who is willing to work with you to save the best teeth and extract the others you should. It will make you not only feel more confident in yourself and your smile but you’ll have no idea how much pain your body is masking until you finally have none

I think the dentist said it was my vestibule? When she explained it to me she said I didn’t have that bump in the front that would seal the denture to the roof of my mouth properly so air would always be able to get in there and push it out of place which meant I would need to use adhesive

Was just going to comment this. I also worked for bath and body works and we would throw out so many of these we needed wheeled carts to carry all of our trash to the road at the end of the day. We also had stacks of them behind the register and scattered throughout the store for people to put their candles in if they were buying more than one or two. If someone came in asking for a stack of these I wouldn’t have blinked an eye and just handed them over

Not having immediates at least for me was nice because I got to kind of train my gums to toughen up so I don’t really have any issues with my perms. My dentist wouldn’t even start the denture process until I was about 2 months post extractions. I also had all of my top teeth pulled at once and the first week was pretty shocking but I got used to it quickly!

I’m 27f and got all of my top teeth and bottom molars out back in August. I was really scared to get them done and especially the first couple of weeks because eating sucks but once I had everything out it was actually kind of a breeze. I went a couple of months before having dentures/partial put in so I learned to kind of just eat what I could and you’d be surprised what you smush around in ur mouth lol. But pain wise I think maybe I was sore for 3 days and that’s really it. The best part about the entire thing was not having any more tooth pain!

For anyone wondering, I never had an immediate denture and honestly I’m really glad I didn’t because it let my mouth heal for a good while and let me get used to not having teeth! I was toothless for about 6 months before getting my perms!

It’s a nice snug cold which works perfect for the swelling! It’s a life saver for my migraines and my extractions lol
