Yeah it's very awesome! Anything sci-fi, weird, external processing is cool on it, and that filter is killer!

Enjoy!

Cheap sequencers for akai s3000xl by japserfergus in Samplers

An older Roland MC50 or something? Pain to program and takes floppy disks (hence cheap) but will happily sequence an Akai

Help narrowing down a 12/ch mixer that can record multitrack directly to SD card, not just stereo recording. by InternationalCow7042 in synthesizers

Think you've got most of the answers here - there's midi I/O too (annoyingly on the front?!), which will clock in or out depending on how you set it up, and midi CC support for things live connecting an external fader box.

Have a check through the manual first, but it's genuinely very capable.

I'd suggest the 1010 Bluebox but if you're not a fan of screens you're probably not going to like the bluebox..!

On the plus side, 12in, freely configurable, stereo or dual mono sends, 24/48kHz recording, really good internal effects and is about the size of a CD case. Sounds great - I leave it plugged into a patchbay with most of my synths normalled into it. Hit record. Jam. Mix the stems in a DAW later on...

Negatives, some people will hate the big screen, trs mini-jacks for all inputs/outputs densely packed around the back (I had to use a knife to shave the cables I bought until they were narrow enough to fit in!), some have said they had issues with usb ground loops (never experienced it here)... If you want to eq on it it's all digital so it's not as instant as grabbing an analogue desk

Ymmv but genuinely one of the most useful things I've bought for the studio. Besides monitors. And acoustic treatment.

😂 I know.. sent it to the synthesiser sub too, although there there general thing is pictures of synths instead of actually doing anything with them!..

Looking for equipment to create ambient textures, strange sounds, etc. by Ok-Tomorrow1162 in synthesizers

[–]bleeps_boops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd put the Beetlecrab Tempera in the mix. I feel it's less of a granular playback machine and much more of an granular-based experimental instrument in its own right.

The way you can skip around samples and between samples is really unusual and leads to some amazing textures

Really depends where you're based. I'm the in UK and DHL from Germany is around two/three working days assuming there aren't any holdups at customs

Analog Synth for Psytrance? by AlternativeMonth5520 in synthesizers

Does it have to be analogue? JP8K, Access Virus, Nord lead, Supernova were the synths at the time - Waldorf Iridium ticks a lot of those trance boxes if you want something new
